I'm glad I can read the box because he never mentioned whether it was MOA or MRAD and also for those who don't know why you would actually go for a 34mm tube, it's because it gives you more elevation adjustment removing the need to shim your mounts or by a special mount with elevation already built into it, so 34mm it great for sub 12 airguns especially for shooting longer ranges.

Thats one great scope, I would buy it BUT, I've just started shooting in my old age after watching AAR , and just brought the GAMO GX Air Rifle Kit, But not reading about the dive rant scopes that you can get with it, I got the cheapest one, it is a nice scope but i wanted a FFP scope ,Yes ,after watching Andy's review's ,So i brought the Taurus 4-24x50FFP Scope in the black Fridays sales, So my wife has put up with me buying that lot plus all the Diver ant targets, I do not think that she will appreciate me getting another scope , THANKS ANDY,I just cant stop watching your reviews.

Morning everyone from a grey and dull St. Helens. Hope everyone is doing well this festive period. Remember the kids will not thank you for the debt you ran up at Christmas but they will remember forever the time you spend with them. Thanks Andy and the AAR team for another great review. Straight and safe shooting all.

Just a thought for a future feature. I'd love to see a historical review series using your format but reviewing the old air guns I remember and collect. Such air rifles as the ASI Paratrooper, the BSA Meteor, or even the Relum. For air pistols, you could do a comparison of the entire Webley range. Just a thought.

How much of an issue is a smaller reticle at lower magnification with FFP? Also 34mm kept being mentioned but no reasons to why it might be a good thing. Range of adjustment is the only one I can think of but I have plenty with 25mm so I am unsure why bigger would be better.
@christopherdean13264 күн бұрын
Mainly means more light getting through. How much of an advantage that is depends on what shooting you are doing. For dawn/dusk hunting it's great. For daylight plinking, less so...
@sometimesdimneverthin4 күн бұрын
@christopherdean1326 It may help light but not enough to notice. The main reason is with allowing greater elevation and windage adjustment range but not much point for most of us in the UK. More useful at long distances. Lower mounts may be an advantage in some cases.
@philipbooth97554 күн бұрын
It allows no more light in, as the light paths cross. It’s just additional elevation/windage range, but much more weight. The quality of glass and coatings is the main influence of image brightness, I’ve one inch tubed European scopes that are far brighter than Far Eastern 34mm tubed scopes, all be they, much more expensive.
@christopherdean13263 күн бұрын
@@philipbooth9755 I had heard differently. I admit, I know very little about how scopes work internally, but adding a greater range of zeroing movement seems to have limited application, and would be better done with the adjustable mounts I have seen advertised.

Interesting that the 4-16x44 is 903g while the 6-24x50 model is 974g. Only an inch and a half longer, yet it's 3.4 ounces lighter! I think I know which one I'll be getting...

Lovely scope indeed and great price but for me the reticle is a bit to fine for pest control, would look great in any modern rifle, good review.

The problem I have with scopes is that I have a HW80 air rifle which is super accurate, but is such a beast , destroys scopes within six months of purchase.

How are you finding the DRS in terms of accuracy and reliability? Quite fancy one myself.
@darrenbeniston31303 күн бұрын
@jacklurcher5813 I'm finding all 3 of my drs to be every accurate especially the .177 right out to 60 yards and the other 2 are as good but the 700mm barrel one is accurate out to 150 yards I haven't tried it out at any longer ranges yet ,but the sub 12 ftb .22 is deadly out to 45 yards on pests ,

For me, that reticle is way too fine for pest control, especially at 6 to 8 mag. You'd struggle to make it out against a squirrel in a tree canopy.
