Taurus hit a home run with this pistol. I carry it as my EDC. Have almost a thousand rounds through it and I had one FTE on the first mag and that’s it. The trigger travel is probably a good thing for a self defense situation. Plus Taurus brought back the Lifetime Warranty. And at that price point it’s well worth it

Yep, he missed a few things about. Super short reset, second strike capability, small accesory rail, and it can use mags from the sig p226 so you can easily turn a 12+1 into a 15/18/20+1. went to the range recently with my father and we shot my g2c (both 12 round mags and a dumbass 32 round promag for range fun), his glock 43 and his m&p 40. He said if he could go back and buy all over again, he'd choose this because of price and features!

I love the pistol as well! I used to carry a Glock 43 and it was great but capacity and features were lacking. Big selling point for me not mentioned in the video is the second strike capability other striker fire pistols don't have. This pistol acts like a double action in that it will strike the primer over and over with every press of the trigger. Very important in a self defense situation if a round fails to go off!! Also nice when dry fire training with a laser bullet as you don't have to rack the slide each trigger pull allowing for more realistic draw and shoot practice. Just my observations! Nice gun for the money! Good look all and be safe!

I just bought one to replace my 1903 Colt .32 Pocket Hammerless that I was carrying for several reasons. My Colt .32 has been in my family for four generations (it was manufactured in 1911) and has Tremendous sentimental value so I want to keep it at home. I don't like the European style clip magazine holder for my primary carry pistol either. I wanted to upsize the caliber on my primary carry also and 9mm fit the bill. So, I researched several smaller size 9mm pistols - Glock 48, Sig Sauer P365 XL, Ruger LC9S, Kel-Tec PF9, along with Taurus' various smaller pistols (I have a Taurus .38 Special Revolver as well so I'm definitely a Taurus fan.). Glock and Sig Sauer are great but were too expensive, even used (even though I can afford one or even up to an STI Staccato I just can't see paying that much, you know?). The Ruger and Kel-Tec are great also but are too limited in their mag capacities. I just kept coming back to Taurus and the G2C pistol over and over. It seems to combine the best of compact size, mag capacity (got a 17 round G2C mag for it), affordability, and accuracy dependability. The Taurus G2C 9mm is a fantastic pistol for personal defense (open or concealed carry), home defense, and range shooting. Great video!

your demo is fair and almost accurate. toward the end when you describe the trigger pull you show the trigger pull as if a round didnt go off in the chamber. that would be the only circumstance where the shooter would experience a "double action" pull. all normal trigger pulls are from a nice short trigger reset. which is accomplished initially by chambering a round or fireing a hot round. you demonstrated the "second strike feature". most rounds fire on a second strike. in a gun battle i doubt if you will be counting.

I've been shooting since the 60's. My 1911 is to heavy to cary anymore. I go to the range everyweek and shoot a a half a box of 9MM's . This is the first 9mm I every carried for CC (or owned)(or even shot). My range store sold me the best ammo they felt for the G2C for close range protection. I shot target ammo for 15 minutes. Then spend another part of my range time I have left handling my 22. Always the same pattern, 2 shots and stop. I have no intention of shooting a 1000 rounds out of this or any gun. The big money guns (Sig and others) use this as a comparison for a cheap gun and theirs. I am way happy with my G2's performance. I pull the trigger and it goes BOOM. Now, does SIG compare my Ford van that has been getting me to work every day for 15 years, with Mercedies...... All I know is my Ford goes BOOM every morning....

The trigger on these guns is wildly misunderstood. Unlike any other pistol I can think of it has restrike capability. Some claim it's an SA/DA trigger but it's not. It only re-cocks the striker in order to restrike a failed to fire round. With that it needs to have a long take-up distance. However the reset distance is very short. The restrike feature makes this one helluva useful pistol for barrel mounted laser site practice. What shook me up the first time I fooled with one was that this pistol is as good as anything out there under $400.00. It put my S&W Shield 9mm shame.
@jonjames42815 жыл бұрын
As you so wisely pointed out, the trigger makes for an excellent training aid. It's basically the reason I bought one of these. having to "re-strike" a round is almost never going to happen, but continued use in dry practice will build up the strength and control in your trigger finger every shooter can benefit from.
@Bkellyusa5 жыл бұрын
@@jonjames4281 - The G2C is a very decent gun anyway you measure it but my interest was like yours and it was primarily due to that restrike feature. With you can dry fire practice all week long for free without ever racking the pistol as I understand it. I have another pistol I want to purchase before I buy the G2C. I don't even need another 9mm but I love everything about this pistol. The 12 rounds are another feature I like and I love the way it's laid out. Everything work easily to for me and despite the fact that it holds 12 rounds it feels pretty much like a single stack pistol. I owned a S&W Shield 9mm the first time I fooled with this pistol and and liked the G2C so much better that I sold it to buy the G2C but got distracted on the way and bought a Walther but I still want a G2C in the worst way.
@jonjames42815 жыл бұрын
@@Bkellyusa years ago I basically spent 8 years straight shooting pistols every day. I had shot in competitions, etc, and have hundreds of thousands of rounds down range. When people would ask how they could be as proficient i'd always reply, buy a 2" 38 revolver and shoot 5000 rounds through it as accurate as possible double action. this was before snap caps and you didn't want to dry fire a revolver back then. doing this would provide you the control and strength needed to be an excellent shot. The g2c can shorten the time/expense it takes because you can repeatedly pull the trigger not racking the slide or using ammo while aiming at targets, this along with range time actually shooting and you will become a better shot no doubt. It's a training tool that can double as a edc. I primarily use 1911s,(old school) my edc is a 45 lightweight commander. I have some high end 1911s and the g2c mimics these very well. controls being in the same place, overall ergonomics, recoil's comparable. even I have benefited from owning one, shooting is a perishable skill after all.

So it operates like a DA/SA, with a trigger similar to the P99, but without a decocker. Is the sriker fully cocked or partially cocked? I think the P99 striker is fully cocked, isn't it?

This is the only pistol I own that I shoot low and left with it. Must be the long trigger pull that I can't accustomed to. Any advise?

If this is the only handgun that doesn’t shoot to point of aim for you, it may not be you. I’d say consider some sight adjustment. The rear sight on the G2C has windage and elevation screws, so I bet you could dial it right in.

there is no long trigger pull under normal fireing conditions. read the instructions.

When you go to shoot it pull the trigger back to the wall then make sure you're sights aligned and then pull.. there's a wall it's a little further back than some guns but that's because of the double strike capabilities.. but then it's a clean break so when you go to shoot it just get used to pulling the trigger back to the wall and then making sure you're sights aligned for you actually fire.. and then it has a really short reset so don't let your finger all the way off for the follow-up shot and you'll see it super accurate... if that doesn't work you might have to adjust your sights but the good thing is that they're fully adjustable so you'll get it to go where it needs to go

For those who have and love the PT111 G2 or G2C the Asmund Short Stroke trigger makes them a whole new animal that is a pleasure to shoot. It's thicker, wider, and takes up all that slack. $25 and the instructional video here on YT. You will not believe the difference it makes.

I’m having an issue with a brand new G2C that hasn’t even been fired yet. When I try to chamber a round it doesn’t go in properly and it gets caught going into the chamber preventing the slide from going forward. Most times I have to empty the magazine down to only 2 rounds before it will chamber the round successfully. I have 4 magazines and it’s the same issue with all of them. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this to happen ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I got a defective one. Brand new not a single shot fired. From the dealer to my residence travel. Stripped the gun and the lower receiver slide rails was broken. It has been 13 weeks today since I returned it for repair and yet Taurus told me that the repair is not yet done.

Taurus customer service has always sucked. That’s well documented and undeniable. I owned one Taurus and that was enough for me.

Recoil is subjective, but one reviewer mentioned it was a little "snappy". Thoughts? Thanks!

It’s a double-action striker-fired handgun. Is there anything else like that on the market?
@jimmellenberger85055 жыл бұрын
Properly, it's called a Single Action/Double Action. The initial take-up and break is single action, if the trigger does not ignite the primer on the initial strike, the short reset is much like a double action pistol, since the striker resets. A true double action would cock the hammer with the complete squeeze of the trigger. Since the striker is set with the initial rack/release of the slide, the first shot is the same single action as a Glock or any other SAO pistol.

Build quality? Or am I asking questions where I don’t need to? Pretty good review all in all, thanks.
@robl8845 жыл бұрын
Build quality is on par with any of your standard polymer strikers currently on the market. Theres definitely no "cheapness" feeling to it, that's for sure! 1200+ rounds through mine, and not a single issue!
@lazvt84695 жыл бұрын
Build quality is decent...I own 3....about 3000 rounds between them. Compared to Glocks, MP, Sigs and CZ's...it's the same 'build quality' just not quite the same 'finish quality'...but good enough to depend your life on it. What sells this gun, besides price, is capacity, size, and ergonomics.

@@lazvt8469 i couldn't agree more. I don't care for the fragile finish of the G2c so I had my slide refinished with cerakote to combat rust, as I live in the south and carry daily. But at a $240 price point, $65 for a cerakote job seems like a no brainer, seeing how I do that with all my pistols anyway. The G2c is something revolutionary, and it'll always be the red headed step-child of the pistol world....but that's okay. Because those of us who love & respect the g2c...its just our secret lol

@@robl884 Indeed. I got all mine for under $200 (Black, OD and Tan color)...and with some Mother's polish and some elbow grease, one can polish the entire barrel to within an inch of its life. And, holsters are easy to find for it too. Let them hate...we know better. ;-)

@@lazvt8469 I only paid $240 because of transfer fee of ordering from buds plus insurance and an added lifetime warranty from buds. If I wouldn't have got all that and bought from a Store I probably could've got mine at or under 200. I didnt mind the extra $40 though. The pistol is worth every bit of it!
