The G2C was my first conceal 4 yrs ago and I absolutely love it. Put in a new stainless steel guide rod, stainless steel striker guide and a new barrel. Shot I’ve 1500 rounds with no hiccups. Eats everything I put in it. Awesome gun!!!!

@@crashlife487 and, this is important, just because a firearm is priced low, doesn't mean it's "cheap" or low quality. I have an American Tacical Imports (Philippine made) 1911 that cost me $380 out the door, and it's been as reliable as any 1911 ever produced. The G2c only has one flaw, and that's the trigger. But if you know how to use a trigger reset, the first round is the only time you can tell there's a "cheap" trigger. And if that's too much for the gun snobs? Then you can buy a $20 trigger upgrade that sincerely improves that first round trigger travel and makes it feel identical to a Glock. I believe the one I bought was Galloway Precision. I also have higher priced pistols and I've had them fail more than my budget-friendly pistols. The gun snobbery these days is unreal. I'm not brand-loyal to anything because any mechanical device can fail. I used to have a kimber that wouldn't cycle for shit. Lemons happen anywhere and everywhere, and so do fan-boys. That's why I love people like us that appreciate all firearms for what they are

@@SwiggOfSauce have 4 of these guns. Mine has over 5,500 rounds with NO problems. There was 1 box of federal steel case ammo that it didn't like. None of my guns did good with this ammo so I dont consider it a fail. My glock 26 sits in the safe collecting dust. For the money you cant get a better gun.

As someone who owns several firearms of all price ranges, from a Staccato XC, to a Glock, Smiths and down to a Taurus g3c, I can say from personal experience, my g3c is one of my favorite pistols. Why? The grip texture is perfectly aggressive; most of my other guns move inside my grip once my hands get sweaty but not my g3c. It locks into my hands due to the very rough texture. The ergonomics are better than 99% of my other pistols. The recoil is moderate for its compact size aka very shootable. I love the recoil impulse; some guns are too snappy and uncomfortable to shoot. The gun points naturally and sights align easily. The trigger is better than both my smiths and my Glock; the reset is better than every one of my smiths and comparable to Glock. And last but not least, all of this on top of the price; bought mine for $230 brand new. My g3c is literally my 3rd favorite pistol out of my collection after my XC and my P. (Yes I own two Staccatos).

RickeyandAmbre Stevens - I’ve purchased two from PSA, one for me and one for my wife. Added the striker firing pin stainless steel channel liner, trigger/striker springs and Truglo night sights from Lakelinellc. Have a stainless steel guide rod from Lakeline coming to me also. The gun shot well in stock form so, I bought the G3. Did the trigger/striker pin springs and firing pin channel guide swap on it too. The G3 shoots like a dream, fits my hand better than the G2C and definitely fits my hand better than any of my Glocks. Only have a few hundred rounds through each one and they digested every round flawlessly. I think Taurus is shaking up the gun community with affordable, reliable guns with lifetime warranty. Glock, Sig, S&W... you folks paying attention?

Well done on the video! I, too, am a G2C fan! I bought my first Taurus back in April of 2013 (a PT24/7...I'm a Taurus so I was being purposely cheesy but little did I know how much I would love the gun!) ...but never shot it until 2 months ago! (Long story short...I am a golf head and a photographer so time was limited!) I saw the G2C loved the way it felt in my hand and treated myself to an early Christmas gift! I have researched this gun for countless hours, watched damn near every video, and couldn't pass up on the price!! Maurice Wiley I’m talking about different ratings of basically power of the round. So if it’s. +P or just P the +P are more kick more so found in self defense style rounds. So if your gun can shoot light ammo or strong ammo, it is a good reliable gun that will shoot any ammo in its caliber platform. That’s a good thing ! Have you found that the Technaclip interferes with the extractor? 350 rounds on my stainless steel guide rod and striker guide. She runs like a dream. She did that anyway. 650 rounds steel, brass, aluminum cases and all the different bullet weights without one single FTF. Not one!

I live in Las Vegas and I got a G2C for my conceal carry also and I couldn't be happier. I also replaced that little plastic striker guide and the trigger pull is so much cleaner, but if you don't wanna replace that part I noticed it does get better after I put more rounds through it.

But I’ve charged my light/laser thing once in the past 2 months and it’s still going good on a charge ! Just don’t leave it charging over night that can eventually kill the battery !

I brought my wife one a week ago, just shot the gun today. When she shot her 1st magazine, a few shots in the next bullet didn't go in the chamber, had to load the next bullet manually. Did again a few shots later same magazine load. When I shot the next magazine no problems, so far I do like the gun, do have to get used to the tigger

Great video and thanks for posting! You definitely got the right gun, i bought a new Glock 43 and had 2 malfunctions right off the bat and with my Taurus G2c i am at 5000 rounds and not one malfunction of any type. And the so called "safe action trigger" on the Glock is total bullshit as it is not a safety at all, i don't care what anyone says. I have carried Glock most of my life and i am 60, and still have all my Glocks but i hate when Glock promotes it as a safe action trigger.... it is deceiving to new users. I carry my G2c with one in the chamber (but), i leave the safety off because i have many years of carrying my Glocks i am use to it. My only advice would be (if) you feel more comfortable having the safety on when you carry it, make sure you get lots of training in and try and get training with stressful situations so you muscle memory adjusts to the safety. Your going to get tons of critics saying to never carry with the safety on, but my theory is if it makes the gun safer to you, your going to have to realize it will slow you down in a high stress situation where split seconds count! Training is the key to everything with a gun....oh by the way...quit fanning yourself with your gun even though you know it is empty bad bad thing to do!!

Since I don’t have to much money to be spending on a Glock the G2C are just as good or my opinion even better than Glocks, as well as it goes for such a low price ! Haha. That's funny. Glocks are very safe. They call it a safe pull trigger because it has an internal safety that doesn't allow the striker to go forward unless the trigger is fully depressed. I carry my glock locked and loaded daily with no fear of accidental discharge.

The pt111 g2 series has been around for awhile. I doubt the price will change much unless they start adding more features. It's biggest selling point is its price point, the further you get from that the more options/Competition they have. The only thing I would change is the sights, theres not much for aftermarket, would be nice to have more aftermarket options in line with glock or sig

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but you can run P226 mags as back-ups mags for additional capacity. The G2C accepts P226 mags so they'll run the 20 rounders.

brad Locsta thank you for commenting ! But I am happy to explain what the guide rod is and also happy to let you know how to purchase this weapon for a good price. Ok, so the guide rod upgrade I have linked in my description is basically helping reduce recoil so when you shoot the weapon it recoil much less ! Also i bought this gun in a gun store in Philadelphia. You can go to any store and I guarantee you that you will find a Taurus G2C for around 300$. If you chose to order online I recommend Palmetto state armory, there website has hundreds-of cheap options where you can order it to your local FFL dealer and you can wait for it to go to the store of your choice and then go and pick it up when it is shipped there, this method however do take time for it to ship. Although this way of purchasing saves you a few bucks it just takes a little longer to wait for shipping ! I hope I’ve helped you out with some of this information ! If you need any help let me know ! I love helping people out when they are getting into there first gun ! I am a new gun user myself but I am learning everyday because I love it so much ! Cheers !

You can get a G2C under $200, maybe $190. They have had a $25 rebate, so as law as $165. Try kygunco.com. transfer fee to whoever they ship it to for you to pick up and sales taxes. If this is your first handgun, I'd suggest looking at a revolver. Maybe a .357 Magnum with a 4" barrell. You can shoot .38 Special and save money on ammo, load .357 when you want to. Revolvers are much more reliable, less issues, excellent first handguns. Try Taurus or Ruger revolvers. Smith&Wessons are great but too expensive. Or Charter ArmsNJ or Rock Island Armory. Lots of good used revolvers to be had.

If you guys are new shooters, congratulations! Sport shooting is a lot of fun and you can watch your skill level improve dramatically, it gives you immediate feedback. If you don't mind, let me make a few suggestions. #1 is always safety. If you don't have someone to teach you, look for a range with an instructor. A lot of videos will give you tips. Second, I wouldn't necessarily start with a 9mm. Most shooters will wind up buying multiple firearms, and a 9mm autoloader would be a good second or third purchase. Personally, I think a revolver is a good #1 gun and a wise purchase may last you a lifetime. I've got my first rifle from 48 years ago and my first handgun, a Smith & Wesson Model 27 .357 Magnum with a 6.5" barrel I bought when I was 14. Everyone needs a .22Long Rifle (.22lr)! That's the caliber of bullet, not a gun. All the techniques apply to a .22 that apply to any other caliber. But a .22 is cheap to shoot! You can buy ammo for it much cheaper than anything else. A good first autoloader could be a Ruger. I forget the model number, it kind of looks like an old German Luger in profile. You can go to their website, or any manufacturer's,to look at everything they make. If you buy on-line there are lots of sites, peruse a few and you'll find several that are consistently well priced. with that clip you cant carry with one in the chamber. the safety switches off vey easily on the g2c and g2. why fiber optic sights if you already have a laser. one or the other is fine but both seem redundant. get a holster thats not made of kydex, they have plenty options out there and should find some generic ones that will fit with the light/laser as well.

I should have discuss more the dangers of having an exposed trigger while carrying with the techs clip, as well as options on amazon or eBay for those trigger guards. Keep Tinkering installed the trigger I bought from him! The stock trigger sucks big time, at least mine did. Mine hung up, didn’t fully reset each time. I sent it in to Taurus and it came back exactly the same! Having the upgraded trigger from Keep Tinkering made my G2C perfect! Love shooting it now! He has several triggers for the G2C on EBay! People will tell you to leave the trigger alone, but lots of people upgrade their guns with different triggers all the time! Huge improvement to the stock G2C trigger!

smokin truker Very true! I tried to install the “Keep Tinkering” Curve SA/DA trigger I bought from him and lost a little spring, a little ball bearing for the safety. I’m no gun smith so I shipped my frame to Keep Tinkering and he installed it. He’s a great guy. Got it back fast and now I love shooting my G2C! So unless you’re an experienced gun smith or at least have a very good working knowledge of triggers etc I wouldn’t advise taking on trigger work yourself.

mine now shoots very different after replacing the guide rail.. i would say for the better however just have to get used to it... or if the cops when they tske your gun after shooting someone u dont wanna spend too much on your CP gun

outside the 4 walls with Yahuah this is true, although upgrades are great, getting use to and the time effort invested into perfecting your comfort with the weapon can get costly. So if you are gonna do so make sure you get proper training and funds to invest into anything like this. let’s hope we never have to use our weapon, prepare for the worst and pray to never have to be in any deadly situation. 2nd amendment America 🇺🇸

I sincerely hope that someone has told you (and you have learned) to get a holster. Never should a loaded gun be outside of a proper holster (covering the trigger guard completely and made of a hard, non flexible material) unless it is being fired. No hate bc I considered one of those clips when I first got into guns. I have since learned that it is extremely unsafe to carry a gun like that. Please DO NOT carry like this anymore. I'm my opinion. 90% or higher of reviewers or one timers who want to share their opinions are all one sided about the G2c. You cant do that. Your comparing a 200.00 weapon to a 500.00 plus weapon. It's not fair to do. The G2c and S models are a firearm that stands alone. Proving a whole lot wrong. Meaning you dont need to shell out 650.00-700.00 for a quality weapon. Taurus is proving alot to everyone. It's a simple fact Taurus is gaining alot of ground and alot of respect from the world. @@SwiggOfSauce hope you're right about the aftermarket support, but I have the 111G2 and LakeLIne is pretty much the only vendor I've found offering anything. I added their SS return spring/guide rod, fiber sights, and the stainless firing pin sleeve (not sure what they called it) which turned my $200 PT111 G2 into a nicer piece with a ttl of $300 in it. it's a great little gun but mine took some work to get the trigger broken in. early on it was terrible I couldn't trust it not to hang up completely during the trigger pull. after break in and some polishing, it's like butter. Not sure if the G2C are as bad given they removed the security system.

I have well over 5000 rounds through my g2c completely stock. I just started my upgrade I got the lakeline striker guide spring and return spring and fire pin housing. Waiting on my trigger and fire sights. But the shit I already changed fires better than my wife's glock 43x

For carry, upgrade the guide rod, the striker carrier, and get the overtravel trigger kit, maybe if youre feeling real snazzy then get a trigger spring kit. As far as mods go, polish the striker safety (itll take care of alot of the trigger creep on the first shot being d/a) and upgrade the sights. Remember that most interactions where a gun has to be drawn happen at less than 15 feet, if you cant hit your target with any firearm at that distance then you need to be spending more money training and put rounds down range than on fancy lights and grips. Reliability upgrades first and if you do alot of target shooting then upgrade trigger and sights. I hadnt shot my g2c in a couple months and when i pulled it out of my carry bag it had surface rust and thats the only issue ive had so far, after the first of the year im gonna have it refinished with nitride (very corrosion resistant compared to blued steel) and do the upgrades while its torn down. Plan on doing the trigger and sights to as i have xd-s mod 2 and after shooting both side by side the only complaint i had about the g2c was the sights and the first shot double double action pull is quite mushy and creepy compared to the rest

I have at G2C and have considered getting a techniclip, for the same reason, having a light mounted on my rail. I currently have a sticky holster that fits it, but really would like the Techniclip. They make kydex trigger covers, but with the light, those can't be used. How have you liked concealing this, do you carry with 1 in the chamber?

I wanted to let you know that after concealing this and yes with one in the chamber, everything has been smooth sailing. I keep one in the chamber and I do use the safety there that everyone hates to use. I personally like this set up with the tech a clip! I recommend this clip for any gun !

cheitner the amount on total upgrades I did to this gun is close to correct. Also keep in mind you can do a few of these upgrades if the budget isn’t all there. I just did the most upgrades I could find because I had money left over for accessories rather then spending the full 500$ on a glock or something as my first purchase. So if the budget allows then do any upgrades that fits the budget ! Thanks for the topic that got me thinking !
