Yes perhaps. The takedown lever or lack there of realistically creates no advantage. It's already thicker than say the Hellcat Pro so adding a traditional lever wouldn't change its profile by anything measurable. There doesn't seem to be any great reason for the design

Thank you. I appreciate it. This gun came to me second hand. I actually bought it from a subscriber so I didnt really want to go into stock sight set up because it came with upgraded sights. The GX4 Carry uses glock style sights so upgrading them is super cheap and easy to find suitable sights.

@Timmnm3 ай бұрын
@@360TacticalSolutions It is modular the serial number is on the silver metal part inside the frame which can be removed and swapped, the serial number isn't on the frame itself. The original gx4 is the same way they even sell after market grips on Taurus you can buy for the gx4 to swap them. The carry model and gx4 have the same trigger assembly and internals it's just a larger frame on the carry model

There is a reason for the take down system. It alows the slide to be for flush to the fram. The pull down lug causes slide to fram gapping.
@360TacticalSolutions4 ай бұрын
I have roughly 35 handguns in my safe. Most of those wouldnt be relevant to the conversation as anything more than examples of the fact that everyone uses a flip down style takedown lever and it doesnt cause any negatives. I dont know what you are talking about with “slide to frame gapping” but I do have a Hellcat Pro which has a flip down takedown lever. There isnt a gap between the slide and frame. It conceals better than any other gun I own and it’s easy to disassemble without needing anything but my hands. No tool needed. Taurus thought they were doing something cool with the takedown system but there seriously is no reason for it
@Rayvisin4 ай бұрын
@360TacticalSolutions exactly, same system. You can bolt on a lever to the gx4 and it would work the same. Rotation pin lock allows guns to sit more flush to the frame.
@Rayvisin4 ай бұрын
@360TacticalSolutions I am sure due this being a carry style hand gun and not combat or battle they preferred the flatter look.
@360TacticalSolutions4 ай бұрын
@@Rayvisin so my point is that not having the takedown lever doesn't change anything for the positive. You still have the slide release lever so you could have a standard takedown lever without making it any thicker and not need a secondary tool to take it apart. The GX4 Carry is 1.08" thick The Hellcat Pro is 1" thick So even though the HCP has a standard takedown lever it's still .08" thinner than the GX4 Carry. Im pointing this out because their system doesn't make anything fit closer or more flush to the frame as you pointed out. This is simply a design choice with no actual merit. Im not saying the Taurus is a bad gun, it's just that the takedown system serves no purpose. You can look at other guns like the M&P Shield which is actually .95" thick and has a standard takedown lever or the Sig P365 Macro which is 1.1" thick and has a standard lever. There are lots of examples of guns made for concealment either the same thickness as the Gx4 carry or similar that have a takedown lever 🤷🏼♂

I’m working on that video currently. I actually should be filming next weekend and should have something up early November. Probably my first Nov video. I have like 2k rounds through my GX4 Carry and it’s never malfunctioned. Mind you 2k rounds isn’t that much compared to over 10k in my HCP. I think people had some issues with the early serial numbered guns and then other people aren’t having issues so much as they want the views for doing a negative video review. Both guns are good guns. The big difference is that the Taurus is more for the person who wants to just buy a gun and use it. There isn’t a ton of aftermarket parts being made. No triggers, hardly any parts like mag extensions and stuff. Although I’m working with a company now to get some parts designed for it. The HCP has a ton of aftermarket parts, anything you can think of you can find out there. As far as how they handle I would actually say the Taurus seems to shoot a little smoother than the HCP but only by a slight degree. Basically both are great choices. Just ask yourself if you are that guy who wants to add a bunch of aftermarket stuff or not. If you are then the HCP is a better choice, if not then maybe the GX4 Carry

Bought my first Taurus revolver in 1985 and seen a lot of poor quality Taurus firearms over the years. Hopefully this will stop with the GX4 Carry and future firearms that Taurus makes? Needing to repair or replace firearms all the times, must have a huge effect on their profits?

What the takedown is so easy... That's lazy af
@360TacticalSolutions4 ай бұрын
Well I never said it was hard to do, I didn’t say it was complicated and I certainly don’t say it was too much work…so I don’t thing “That’s lazy af” really applies does it? Nothing about your comment actually relates to what I said. It’s not about it being hard to do, it’s about adding an external tool into the takedown procedure. How many guns do you own that require a secondary tool to break down for cleaning, maintenance or any type of failure? With the exception of some of my 1911’s using a paper clip to remove the guidrod and of course the Taurus, none of my pistols require a tool for disassembly. You can of course carry a tool with you in case you need to disassemble the GX4 but it’s one more thing to have to do, one more thing to be forgotten or to go wrong. This would of course make sense if not having a takedown lever held any type of advantage…which I can’t for the life of me find one. If you can point out an advantage to not having a takedown lever I’m happy to listen to your thoughts.

500 rounds you would not be able to touch slide or any metal part . 500 rounds through an AR15 smokes the gun and almost melts the handguard. 500 rounds in an hour and a half?
@360TacticalSolutions2 ай бұрын
This is incorrect. 500 rounds through an AR is roughly 17 mags and a considerably higher velocity/heat factor than a 9mm. That makes one mag per 5.5min to complete 500 rounds in 90 minutes. This absolutely won't heat the gun up to the point of almost melting the hand guard. I think what you are eluding to is that you don't believe that I shot 500 rounds in under two hours? You believe the gun would get so hot it couldn't be handled and this just isn't true. Thanks for commenting though.
