Taurus GX4 Review & Comparison vs Glock 43, LCP Max, and G3C: PART 2

Part 2 of the review and "shootout".
And yes, no doubt, the Glock 43 was at a disadvantage due to using the stock 6 round mags and having shot the test with it first.

I've had two recent experiences with Taurus customer service, and both were VERY positive. They fixed the problems, did it quickly, and were super nice on the phone. I think the guy who came in from Walther has made a big difference in turning the company around.

I have both the Taurus GX4 and G3C. So far I have found both reliable and fairly accurate. The G3C failed to lock the slide back after last shot once, but that could have been ammo or my error. I so far like both guns. Thanks for the content.

turned out basically as I suspected, I describe Taurus a guns that are the Best Value, there are many better guns and makers, but they are 2/3/4 times the price and if you are in the Hi-point/Charter Arms territory, Taurus by far is the best of the bunch.

As with most anything, you get what you pay for. That said, the GX4 is a very competent shooter. Taurus's best handgun to date.

One of the better lineup reviews I've seen, and a great test format. It looked like the GX4 had very little muzzle flip for you, plus impressive accuracy. A no-brainer upgrade from a G2C, trigger like an old car door. Thanks for the review!

I have a Taurus G3C and Taurus TCP 380. The TCP 380 is very snappy. I was debating between the Ruger Max 380 and the Taurus GX4. It sounds like the GX4 will be better for me. Thank you very much!!!

If absolute smallest size is not a major concern, the GX4 is a much better shooter. Way more fun and much easier to put on target.

I have the taran tactical base pads for my g43. Just swapped them for the Sheild arms magazines. Holds 9 rounds and a lot more easy to conceal than the tarran tactical modified mags

Good review... and surprised at the shooting results that the GX4 did better for you than the Glock. On micro pistols, as I have big hands as well, I tend to pull left as well and I believe that is because it is hard to really get a hold of the grip as you would with a full-sized pistol. I adjusted my sights to the right slightly and now am 100% in the 10 ring.

I 100% didn't expect the results of this comparison. I wanted to dislike the GX4, but it's is undeniably a very solid shooter.

I like the GX4 trigger. With Glocks, I actually throw the 8lb trigger connector in it. I highly recommend it for CCW if you have one. It may be a little heavier compared to the other connectors, but it has a well defined wall and a much shorter, more clean break like a single action... and the trigger not only breaks farther back, which helps with control, but it also has a much shorter reset and less over-travel. With a very simple polishing or trigger job, you can get the weight right back down to the standard connector or even less (like 4.5lbs). It's almost like a single action, but still a little heavier/safer for CCW. I prefer about 7lbs, which is what it is if your parts are either polished or well worn in... and it can still increase accuracy.

I saw one of those in the local farm store for $360 (Gx4). Very tempted. Had one of those LCP2 .22's but sold it off because it just wasn't consistently reliable with anything.

That sucks. I love the LCP II 22lr. They're very usually reliable and not ammo sensitive. One of the only rounds I hear people ever having trouble with is the new Federal "Punch" ammo, which kind of sucks, because it's the best for short barrel handguns. If I had an LCP II 22lr, I would do whatever I could to make it work and/or replace it with another LCP II 22lr otherwise. I'm a little biased though, because it's one of my favorite guns.

Mmm, would depend on a few factors. The lcp is far easier to carry and conceal, but is significantly worse to shoot. I tend to carry the smallest gun possible here in the south in warm months because of wardrobe issues. But in winter, I carry a variety of slightly larger guns like the hellcat or gx4. If I wasn't going to appendix carry or IWB, I would always opt for the gx4 over the lcp max. But the max can do pocket carry pretty well, and is about as good as it gets overall in an iwb setup at shorter ranges.

@@johncox5297 Hope you like it and that you got your rebate. Those things are terrible Most of the time, so I never bother. Not once ever has a company honored a mail in rebait for me (or any rebate), so I've always forced them to refund my money, because I won't give money to a company that lies and steals from people. Forgive the rant. Just hope they honored yours and that the gun works well for you. It's an excellent firearm. (Taurus never failed to honor a rebate for me. Just wanted to make that clear that it wasn't them, just a couple other gun companies and companies for other things).

Do you use a loader for your Ruger LCP 22 mags? The f’ing lips on those mags are a pain in the thumbs.
