A friend picked up one just like that one with a 8-3/8" barrel for $400 and it came with 400 rounds of ammo! He loves it, I tried to talk him out of it and he won't part with it! That stainless steel will last forever!

I bought a 605 last week. When I was loading it it fell apart in my hand. Sometimes you get a brand new one and the yoke screw is not tightened. If the yoke screw falls out the cylender assembly will fall out. For me I perfered shooting .357 and did jnot find the kick to be not too bad. I tried .38s and it was not bad. It shoots nice but a gun that falls apart is not a good idea.

I wanted to see how good you got at shooting it. I have a keltec p3at which is what Ruger initially copied for their 380 pocket pistol design. Granted, it’s a bit smaller than the version number 2 but it’s a very long trigger pull and a very small gun. It’s nearly impossible to hit anything with it. However, if I were to shoot 10k rounds through it, I suspect I’d get pretty good.

So i recently purchased the Defender 605 with the tungsten wood grips. Absolutely beautiful revolver. Took it to the range 3 times and did general cleaning twice. No problems and then all of the sudden the ejector rod is getting stuck and then the cylinder wont release. I just sent it back to Taurus for a warranty claim. Hoping its an easy fix but its a bummer to have issues after only about 150 rounds through it.

I picked up one of these in January 2024. Cleaned, lubed before the range. Shot 250 rounds of CCI MMs, Aguila, and had 18 LPS/fail to fire and 7 FTE/fail to eject. Sent it back to Ruger and they put a new barrel and slide on it. Went back to the range with it and fired 236 rounds of a mix of CCI, Aguila, Remington. Four out of ten Aguila's failed to eject, several FTFs with CCI, strangely enough, all 100 rounds of Remington "golden bullet" fired 100 percent. The other issue was that the manual safety randomly engaged itself 6 times during fire. I've sent it back to Ruger, again. Maybe they'll send me a new one...

The 605 poly & ruger LCR snubby's are both polymer, with that being said. I would only run .357 mag 110grain up too 125 grainers. In these Lil poly pocket rockets. And leave the heavier 158 grainers for the steel 3"barrels & up. I've had my Lil 605 poly going on better part of 6yrs now and never had any issues with it. In which I acquired from a pawn shop pick up at one Hella deal. To this day it's still part of my EDC rotation and makes an excellent run to the corner store from some munchies pocket rocket, when I don't wanna pack my g19 or kimber ultra carry 2. For a quick trip to the store. IMHO. always carry , stay vigilant, stay safe.

I would love to see if the GX4 fits in the G43 holster. Besides the shorter barrel/slide on the GX4, the guns are very similar in size and shape... and if you go on "handgun hero" to compare the two, the GX4's trigger guard fits well within the G43's trigger guard shape. That makes me think that a GX4 will fit in a G43 holster. I think the biggest difference though is that the GX4's trigger guard is wider (especially in the back) and it's also tapered, so it's thicker in the back near the grip and gets thinner towards the front... but even the thinner front is still wider than a G43 trigger guard. I think that would require some adjustment for the gun to fit in a G43 holster, but I think it would work if ever necessary. (Although I don't recommend to ever put a gun in a holster that was not intended for it. The one lady that sued SIG for her P320 going off lost her lawsuit, because she put her P320 in a holster made for a P22X model handgun... and that caused the holster to pull the trigger on her P320 about 95% of the way, which disabled her striker safety and left the striker on the very, very edge of the sear... just waiting to go off from a bump or shock. If you ever do put a handgun in a holster that was not intended for it, then it's extremely important to make sure nothing dangerous like that can happen... and also, you do it at your own risk.)

Does the reliability of polymer Rugers concern you at all? My experience some years ago with an LC9S caused me to not use it as a carry gun, and reliability issues with the Ruger polymers is disconcerting to me, though my LCP Max has been good through a couple hundred rounds so far. What are your thoughts?

I bought one of these in January 24 and had job related delays getting to the range. Finally, I got a chance to test it in late April. I cleaned and lubed it before going to the range. I shot 150 rounds of CCI mini mag 36gr solid point @ 1235 fps and had 18 light primer strikes, and 2 failure to extract. I then shot 100 rounds of Aguila 40gr solid point 1255 fps. I had 3 fail to extract and 2 light primer strikes. I had already ordered some parts from Galloway and Mcarbo that are supposed to cure whatever problems this pistol has but, I decided to try it stock, right out of the box before installing anything. I contacted Ruger and told them about my issues with the pistol. They said to send it back to them for "evaluation and repair." Turn around was about 7 days. When I got it back, there was no paperwork stating what was done to the pistol, which was disappointing to say the least. I haven't fired it yet. In my opinion, one shouldn't have to install aftermarket parts to make a gun function properly. Hopefully, mine will function with 100% reliability without the parts... if not, I guess I'll install them. This is my choice for EDC and I'm determined to make it function 100%.

I can confirm this is true. I noticed out of the box I was having a rough time with poa/poi on my Hellcat Pro. I had to aim high to hit where I wanted to hit. I happened to get a True Precision barrel because I had the stock barrel ported and I wanted a non-ported barrel as an option as well, for shooting some local competitions that do not allow for ported barrels. I immediately noticed that my poa/poi with the stock iron sights was instantly more precise and accurate. I no longer had to aim high to get the shot where I wanted it to go. Now, where my irons are is where the shot hits. Now for some science. I was practicing for a match and a friend of mine was shooting her, brand new completely stock, HCP for the very first time at the range. I had her try mine which has a Hogue grip, MCarbo trigger kit, MCarbo titanium striker kit, and DPM recoil springs. She said mine felt snappier to her and asked me to try hers to compare. I tried hers and instantly could not hit anything I was aiming at. To this point, I was kicking ass with my HCP but with hers, it was like I had never shot a pistol before. Then it dawned on me that she had the stock Springfield barrel and, for me, that confirmed that the stock barrel just isn't that accurate for some reason. Anyone who says that it's a shooter issue most likely does not have any experience shooting the stock Hellcat. I would also like to add that this issue was happening right out of the box, before I made any modifications and continued after I made the modifications. If I hadn't tried hers after using mine with the True Precision barrel, I'm sure I would never have realized the issue was with the barrel and not with my shooting ability. I'm no Grand Master or anything, but I am definitely an advanced intermediate shooter, and getting better each week. I have placed 19th overall in a competition of over 100 shooters as well as 2nd in my division. The last competition I shot in I placed 5th in my division and 22 overall out of about 100 shooters. So again, not a pro but definitely not a bad shooter either.
