For the old letons, the name "Tautumeitas" was given to young women at the age of marriage, but today represents all the women dressed in national attire. The music of Tautumeitas is created by six voices and six pairs of hands belonging to Latvian girls, who believe that music makes the world better. The group's main interest is the traditional corner, especially the multi-part corner. The particular voice resonance created by this traditional Latvian chant provides fun not only for the public, but also for the artists themselves. In order to picture traditional music from its own perspective and show how the modern day "Tautumeita " thinks and feels, each of the members incorporates different instruments in this traditional vocal music a capella. Most of the band's members studied ethnomusicology, which is why there are many traditional musical influences from different parts of the world. Timbral variety, fresh ideas and eclectic musical taste merge to give the Tautumeitas a unique sound.

If someone wants the song translated here it is: Birch was growing on a rock with silver leafs. I wanted to pull one off but all of them fell off with a great sound. @o O i'm Latvian. and we do not kneel before God like Christians and Muslims do. we stand proud when talking or praying to our creator. and we don't need church ether. because we hold God in ourselves. mēs esam Dievturi.

@o O is right. I mean that's cool if you are all into Pagan faith and Baltic folklore. But "pagan blood" isn't a thing, you can't just be pagan because you're Latvian...

@touchnotthiscat Baltics are true lats European Pagans. more people celebrate summer solstice rather than Christmas. facts. i'm not quite sure what i stand for. but it aint no crucified jew for sure. i have shivers trough my body since childhood when i see a book of Bible. my soul don't like it. so i have never read it.

You are right. My religion is friendship and even though I have friends that are Christian and Pagans(Few of them)I still don't have my religion. I just want to support culture that has strong history, because in my opinion it is thing that we must know. Have a nice day! Be friendly!
