Black. Suggest you keep the intake lines black as white will detract from the look of the white valve covers. Same way you don't wear a white shirt with white pants. That's part of the reason the gold does not look good on them. Enjoy your channel!

I agree. White would be confusing with the white valve covers. If you want to stick with gold, try what someone suggested yesterday - run the tape lengthwise instead of "around". I think it will look a lot better without the wrinkles.

I think you had the right idea regarding the pipes from the charge cooler to the intake, but maybe the wrong approach. If I were you I'd seriously think about getting them ceramic coated white (if the budget can stand it,) it will give you the look you want and provide a better thermal barrier between charge temperature and under-bonnet temperatures. The cooler the charge the thicker the air, the thicker the air the more oxygen the engine receives and therefore the better the burn so you'll get more ponies...
@YoAbzi
@YoAbzi 6 жыл бұрын
To be fair the intake pipes do look messy obviously not your fault but yeah best to paint them white.

What about Insulflex over that? Flex Tape to keep leaks inside if they happen, and Insulflex to repel the heat. Edit: Fiberflect is the name of it. Not Silicaflex though, we don't need a "health conscious alternative" to something that will be an a ventilated engine bay.

layer the gold tape , use smaller cuts of tape and do a pattern. the pattern could be simple small squares layered over and over . the pipes can be covered with small cuts of tape in any pattern it will look good if you take time to place each small cut of gold tape down and wipe smooth with a towel before placing the next piece of gold tape overlapped

Cars coming along well man, great job on getting it back running again, I think personally imo you should have the intake tubes and intercooler coated in black as well instead of that gold tape that coating will help more then the tape, also I think the turbo parts all should have been done in the silver/chrome color coating it would look so good with the turbo hot sides looking all shiny and it would make them stand out a lot more, keep up the good work and think about changing those turbo colors before it’s to late! And do the intake tubes in black even if it’s painted to much white will be overwhelming like the gold is. Love the content.

Hey Tavarish it's more so chemistry. You are correct about the molecules from the air being hot and with the heat being consistent through the exhaust some of that heat doesn't escape, it increases combustion in the cylinders, thus increasing your power. And that NSX sounds SOOO good! You can't hear the supercharger though! 😢

I owned a 500HP R32 Skyline GT-R and already that amount of power scared the crap out of me (still fun to drive though), but it was a beast, I can't imagine what 1000hp feels like. But keep it up Tavarish, your work looks very awesome, I wish I had a garage to do all that work in. I switched to Honda now, own a '92 Civic EG, an '04 Civic EP3 and a Civic FN3 together with a friend of mine, it kind of escalated, but got lots of fun with it. :D

Same here. I won't miss a Cleetus McFarland video, and Tavarish is my new favorite. Things took an ugly turn with the huge obnoxious gold box though, I'll call my therapist, he'll get me through this for sure

funkyzero Ahahahaha. Well it's not just a huge obnoxious box. That serves a great purpose by reflecting massive amount of heat. The car definitely had the fire before. Now he wouldn't want the heat to destroy it this time. Prevention is better than Cure as they say!

Keep the pipes black or blank as they are at the moment without the tape, gives the white valve covers a bit more special looking.

Keeping the heat inside the exhaust. It’s like how you want cold air for a boosted application. The air takes up more space(expands). And there will be more flow to push the turbos harder.

I’m lovin the whole direction that you are taking with the car. I like all of the gold that you added so far. I’m still a little bit mad about ditching the red rims though.

Are you going to add some heat shielding on the turbos? Something like DEI Turbo Shields. Personally I never used one of the turbo shields (or similar products for the turbo hot side), but due to your somewhat limited space/area, it may help keep the heat in where it belongs (etc).

It's okay to try and fail. That's the only way to know. You are right to take off the gold tape from the pipes at least, but really also the cooler. Have them ceramic coated

Great episode and update. Good idea to get rid of the tape on the throttle feeds/head - you are right, it didn't wrap well and hence looks poor. And yes, you ought to buy an NSX - developed with the assistance of Ayrton Senna. The original series are old enough now to be reasonable value, and the launch of series2 means you might sell on for a profit?

Great video Freddy!! I'm kind of worried as it's only rated for 1,300° F without discoloration. The reason is exhaust temps are going to exceed that if you're racing or pushing the engine. I guess if you don't care about discoloration, but I have doubts it's going to keep that nice polished look.

Exhaust exceeding 1200 degrees? Gas turbine engines run around 550 degree exhaust. What about having more air ducts, vents, and/or fans? This will help greatly in the Florida summers. I moved to Central Florida in 1992 and still am trying to get used to the hot summers. The rest of the year is awesome, just very hot summers.
