The reason for the cut out is that Japanese rear plates must be bolted to a non removable part of the car, then have a seal placed on one of the bolts. That applies to all white number plate passenger cars……reason seem to be so that people can’t swap or steal plates, road tolls and taxes here are horrendous.

The remote control was the thing back in the 90s. I had one for my Alpine/JP stereo system. Instead of leaning forward to hit the button, you had a remote typically left in the cup holder that can do everything the buttons did on the unit. Kinda of a safety feature when you didn't want to take your eyes off the road. The remote I had consisted of six buttons. Disc change, skip forward and reverse, volume, and a power off.

FYI the "easy pass" machine located on the side is a highway toll payment system (called an ETC). In Japan highways aren't free, so you insert your highway card into the slot and it automatically pays without you having to stop to pay manually. The Japanese lady's voice when you turned on the car is telling you the card isn't inserted.

seems like a perfect time to do a twin turbo 6g75 build... or even an all motor 6g75 tuned for some spicy fuel.

I think the radio remote is for the passengers in the back seat to use.

I have those same wheels in my garage, Stillen AVS wheels, theyre quite light weight so I used them as my auto cross wheels for a 300zx tt I had years back. Still has good Kumho MXs on them, but no one wants them. Super duper cheap too, $500CAN is a steal for expired awesome rubber and oldschool name brand wheels. I used to change my wheels at 5am before autocross every week, and change them back to Monza Autostradas with Falken 512s on them, after the day of autocross.

Radio remotes were a great tool for audio competitors in the 90s still are today but alot of folks now just extend their radios on long pigtails to outside the car cuz the levels of vibrations today's comp systems put off can mess with radios. Prs80s by pioneer are notorious for not liking bass levels in the 155dbs or highers at about 30 to 32hz or lower unless on an "enteral headunit" set up.

passenger side air bags didn't become required till 98. As for the remote for the radio. its was common on flip out radios of the day. They didn't have steering wheel controls, or touch screens yet. at its was the early 2000s.

THE hole on the bumper is the same as why Japanese cars often have a flip up plate piece, in japan only special authorities can fit or remove the number plate, so mechanics or people working on the cars would have to remove the bumpers etc without touching the number plate, so you will find they flip up or have cut-outs to allow the number plate to stay on the car and still take the bumpers etc off.

My Japanese (RHD) Imported (to Australia) Black 1993 (Series 1) MKIV Supra had an insert in the rear bumper covering some of that hole (not all of it though). The horizontal fins in the insert sat either side of the license plate when fitted. I would think that your 94 would also be series 1 as well. Mine was also 5 speed manual (SZ not the Twin Turbo RZ) with the cloth front seats, leather rear seats, no airbags (Tri spoke steering wheel and double glovebox) and a factory LSD (Rare I was told). It also had orange side indicators that I changed to clear (like yours). I removed the ashtray in the centre console and used that hole as my cup holder (Yes they're essential). I had it for 6 or 7 years before I was T-Boned in it. Unfortunately it never drove the same after the repairs so I sold it. I'd love another one but they're way too expensive now. I look forward to seeing how you go with yours. Brings back so many memories. Good luck! :)

The reason the radio has a remote is for when ur outside of the car and playing music and want to skip a song or turn the volume up or down. For example if u and the boys r playing some ball and want some music while ur playing.

Almost every Dodge even to this day has left hand wipers. Nothing new there depending on what you drive, lol.

The remote control, for the radio is important. When changing the song at 100mph

The plate is cut out because the license plate mounts to the chassis in Japan. So that way they can take the bumper off without removing the plate. Super strict laws about plates staying on the vehicle at all times
@iannorton44632 жыл бұрын
One reason the rear bumper has the cut out is that they become a massive air brake at speed so the hole allows air flow. ✌️🇬🇧✌️🇺🇸

The card slot nearby the pedals is for the ETC card. it allow to access the paid highway without need to stop for a ticket (yes I know, american people often miss that in many country you need to pay the highway). So, you sign a contract, get a ETC card, slot in, and then you can properly roam for the tokyo highway. Edit: the "female robot" told you that there is no card slotted in.

here in ireland anything jdm is atleast 10k and anything that is the factory race version of that car like an evo, wrx, gtr, gt4 is like 50k minimum that supra would sell her for like 50k aslong as it starts.

At 14:28 timestamp, that's the ETC (Electronic Toll Card) device saying "there's no card to be found in the device" in Japanese. It's better to keep that way for the car's aesthetic.
@johnnoble-ray42232 жыл бұрын
@Tavarish The point of a remote for the radio is to control it, while standing outside the car, at things like car shows.
