It’s really hard to find a good rules video about this game. Your video is top notch, congratulations!! This game is really heavy in minor rules and you explained pretty well!

Thanks for the vid. I made an impulse buy for this and thought I'd take a look at some game-play. Turczi is one of my favorite designers and this one shouldn't disappoint. It actually doesn't look too overwhelming. No more than others he's done. This one may replace Teotihuacan in the games of "T" category.

Hello While i still prefer the whole playthru, this one is really well done. the chosen parts of the game really gave a good representation of the play. I think this is a good model for future videos.

Oh, yes! I'm such a Turzci fan and I've been very excited for this and Tekenu... I just hope they play well at all player counts. Teotihuacan needed some finagling to get good for 2 - which is my primary player count. Thanks Jon!

Hey Jon, great rules overview as always! Just spotted one little thing at 19:45. You say that the yellow courier gets an extra task because it is the first courier in the segment, when in fact it's because it's the first worker (of any type) in the segment. You stated it right just before, but might be worth a Klingon subtitle just to clarify!

I really like the look of this, but am concerned about the lack of reminder symbology on the board -- for example I don't see reminders for the roaming costs, or the costs for the high priest (centre) actions, or the bonuses for each colour workers. Are there good player aids - and are there enough of them for every player to have one?
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
I briefly showed the player aide at the start of the video and I should have emphasized that the game comes with one per player. It's a thorough player aide that details all of these things.

I miss your full videos Jon. What brought the change? Time pressures from your new study?
@Carsten_de_19814 жыл бұрын
He explained it in one of the latest channel updates. My impression as summary:Takes way more time than it is worth as only a minority watches the full playthroughs. completely.
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
I discussed it at length in my last update vlog, but the short and primary reason is the 8-10 extra hours they took to create weren't worth the low viewership the extended playthroughs actually got. Doing the full playthroughs was also getting tedious and I was on average not happy during that extra time, so it made sense to remove it.

11:51 Wow, I am completely confused by the roaming penalty? Is there a picture in the rulebook or somewhere where I can actually see what areas you are referring to - based on where the orange player is setup, for example? Thanks.

Each player gets a large player aid and that does have a good illustration of how this works if memory serves.

I haven’t found any references to the points in the right side of the temple track. Why are they there, when, if I do, do I score them?

Unfortunately, it's been too long since I've made this video to remember specifics about the game like this.

Referencing 52:12 (& also 48:20) So does that mean that if there are more than 1 resource available - say 2 @ 48:20 - that you would NOT be able to buy the yellow worker with 2 potatoes, instead of 1 corn; or buy the red worker with 2 corn, instead of 1 potato??

At 26:07 a note pops up that you will explain the worship secondary action at 26:09 (which is two seconds later) and I don't think that's the case.

At 54:43 there is only one blue worker in the bottom left of the upper level. But at 5:41 there were 2. Did I miss it being removed somehow?
@gamingpond4 жыл бұрын
I think it was due to a red worker placement removing the other blue, but I can't be bothered to find the time.

The red worker removed one of the blues as part of it's worker specific action.

Hey Jon, you wouldn’t consider doing an unedited extended play through once in a while, would you? I think most of us extended play through fans would be very happy with that.
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I really disliked the ~7 hours those extended videos took to record, and I doubt most people would be interested in watching a video as long as a work day that is full of multi-minute silence as well as swears as I mess around with the game to fix issues and plan out turns in the future. I did happen to make a full playthrough for Castello Methoni which is coming out later this week so it seems I may continue to occasionally make them happen.
@samiamagaimagain4 жыл бұрын
@@JonGetsGames I see. I guess I should know that your perfectionist side would never permit you to just play it out without overthinking your turns ;) I really appreciate your clear runthroughs. I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning. You really do a superb job. Thank you!

@@JonGetsGames Is there any chance that you could continue playing the game out, like you would be doing an extended playthrough, but NOT record it - just in order to satisfy people that want to know what the RESULT of the game ended up being. Then you could go back to your playthrough and tell us what the result was? Or would that still be too much work (even without having to articulate yourself for the camera) for too little return on it? Just wondering.

Great playthrough Jon. At 23:44, the worker can be placed down there despite the absence of a staircase from Level 2 to 3?
@aweso4 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's allowed. The staircase just gives a discount on the food cost if it's there, but it doesn't need to be there.
@JonGetsGames4 жыл бұрын
Staircases just provide a penalty reduction and a potential VP gain for the builder, they aren't necessary for moving down.

I went into why I no longer do full gameplay in great detail in my last update vlog. The short version is it's not worth the extra 7-10 hours considering how few viewers actually watch through it.
