Anything under 3 dollars a mile on a flatbed is cheap freight. DONT HAUL CHEAP FREIGHT
@AFTDispatch
@AFTDispatch 2 күн бұрын
I agree that we shouldn't haul cheap freight. Where I absolutely disagree is the assumption that everyone has the same operating costs and is in exactly the same situation. I think everyone would agree that a truck running cost of $1.50 per mile is much more profitable than a cost of $2.50 per mile. So that's a very subjective thing and the details of which you do not posses.

Increasing oil production does not happen overnight. America will see NO result on that for a while. One reason, NO new refineries in 60 years. So, doesn't matter how much oil you drill.

@votes-haveconsequences2165 and @robertward8035 Good points! Oil production does take years to ramp up, and new refineries haven’t been built in decades. The recent increase in production partly comes from leases auctioned off during the Trump administration, with permits signed under Biden.

On trucking, yes he is spot on. Dispatcher magic is the key. Most dispatchers are very sharp, but not all dispatchers can "work that magic." Politics? It is what it is. Politicians don't make any sense, because they can't. No true rhyme or reason to economic finance as we know it. Mostly made up figures to win over the citizenry. So obviously you can't expect a "Trucker" to make any sense of it all. Truckers basically just regurgitate talking points heard on their favorite media network.

BULL-SHIT if Trump supports small business. He supports BIG business. That screw's truck drivers. Remember he took company drivers meal deductions away.
@AFTDispatch
@AFTDispatch 2 күн бұрын
Trump’s policies cut taxes across the board. Meaning benefiting both big and small businesses. The meal deduction for company drivers was changed, that’s part of the larger tax reform aimed at reducing overall tax rates, which did benefit a lot of owner-operators and independent drivers. It's easy to focus on one point, but the bigger picture shows small businesses, including trucking, got plenty of support through deregulation and tax cuts. So, let’s be real.

@AFTDispatch
@AFTDispatch 2 күн бұрын
Everyone does not have the same operating costs. $2.40 this week, $2.80 next week, that's how you have a good month. This is basically a new carrier, in today's market making $7,075 in under a week. We're talking 170 miles of deadhead out of 3,121 total miles, that's 5.5% sir. At 7mpg and $3.53/gal diesel, it would run him $1,573 and that's if he only managed to buy at this week's average price. I would say Boris had an excellent week and should keep working hard and closely with his dispatcher. Thanks for stopping by.

I disagree that trucks will go electric they weigh more then regular trucks so they cant hual as much legally and the battery is only lasting 500 miles which we are running 650-750 a day they would also have to have as many charging stations as their is truck stops they also cost way more in general
@AFTDispatch
@AFTDispatch 2 күн бұрын
I hear you and I covered this in other videos as well over the years. What'll likely happen is trucks will still be propelled using electricity but how that electricity is stored or generated will be different to what we know. Capacitance will go up, costs will go down. It might end up being hydrogen or nuclear for all we know but it will most likely end up with electricity moving those wheels forward. Plus, if it's only laws that prevent them from hauling full weight, those have been amended already and they can surely be amended again. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it.

It will take YEARS to rebuild manufacturing capabilities, if not decades. You don't build factories over night. And the few factories capable will price gouge. Any increase in cost will be pushed down the road onto the consumer. That is you and me. If he goes through with the tariffs like he said, we will see some serious inflation. Any profits you might make in trucking will disappear in a second.
@MattMazoo
@MattMazoo 2 күн бұрын
Tariffs have never caused inflation... look at the past before making a false accusation. Since the inception of the Federal Reserve and the personal income tax has been the reason behind inflation. When we as a country operated solely on tariffs, the country had a huge surplus in money they couldn't figure out how to spend it!!!
@AFTDispatch
@AFTDispatch 2 күн бұрын
@nelsonrivera981 @TruckingForHermes @MattMazoo I get where you're all coming from, but let's break it down. Yes, tariffs can create short-term pain, but in the long run, they were meant to push for more domestic production and reduce our dependency on countries like China. Sure, rebuilding manufacturing takes time, but that's the trade-off for a more sustainable economy in the future. @MattMazoo is right-tariffs alone don’t cause inflation. The bigger drivers are things like the Federal Reserve’s policies and the income tax system. Historically, when the U.S. operated largely on tariffs, we had surplus funds. But of course, there’s no easy fix. It’s a long-term play with a lot of moving parts. Let's not ignore the bigger picture.

Dude you most definitely don't know what you are talking about. Have you stayed in a tariff country, I have. Tariff hurt the consumes, and in return the consumers cut back on spending because of higher prices. Basic business 101 tells you when consumers slow down, so does freight. When freight slows down, driver income goes down. Nothing good about what's coming for truckers, don't kid yourself folks. Save your money asap because it's about to be a very bumpy ride. Elon said to tear down the economy and rebuild, that's easy for him to say because he has money to withstand it. This dude on this show is a joke.
@AFTDispatch
@AFTDispatch 2 күн бұрын
If companies start stocking up now, you’ll see an increase in freight demand and higher prices in the short term before the tariffs fully kick in. That’s the reality of it. What I said is pretty straightforward-prices will go up, yes, that’s what rebuilding domestic manufacturing does. It also creates more jobs, more freight, and ultimately, a stronger economy. You've clearly missed the point David, yet you call me a joke and not knowing what I'm talking about.
