I've seen brisket cooked both ways overcooked kind of like pull pork and cook enough to be sliced thin like roast beef.

Great week of meals. Another use for your brisket is make quesadillas with it. You can add salsa before or after cooking them.

Everything looks so good as usual! Great job on the brisket! I’d be intimidated to make that as well. And what a neat idea to make a grilled cheese with the leftover brisket. Looks delicious! I’m definitely going to have to try those refried beans (I also got an immersion blender for Christmas) and the Crunchwraps. I love Taco Bell too and those look so good and easy! I make something like the chicken fundido but the recipe I use calls for a marinade. I’m going to give this version a try as I’ve got some adobo seasoning I need to use. Thanks for all the great ideas!

I used to make brisket in the oven with apple cider,dark beer and a seasoning pack before I got a smoker was always really good and super tender. Dont be intimidated. Low and slow and it will be great.

Next time you try a brisket, try it in your crockpot. This is how I cook mine. Also, leftover brisket is good in a flour tortilla taco. Fix it like a fajita.

I need to try pinto beans in my crockpot. I’ve only done them on the stovetop. those looked really good! And a great idea to make homemade refried beans like that! Everything looked so good! Does that white cheese dip taste more like the restaurant kind? Where did you buy it at? I may have missed that. I haven’t tried any of the premade kinds that taste like the one Mexican restaurants serve.

Sooo for brisket! 8-10 hrs in the crockpot on low, it falls apart like Mississippi pot roast, and the best recipe I’ve ever found for it is Smitten Kitchen’s tangy spiced brisket. Egg roll tip, we make our own egg rolls if we have a Chinese meal for dinner. We cook coleslaw with ground sausage, and make a sauce to put in the mixture. Then wrap them with egg roll wrappers from the produce section. And then deep fry. Homemade is so so much better then the frozen ones from the stores. If you want to know more of how we do it, I'd be willing to share. The frozen ones from the store just taste awful and then never get crispy so I experimented with making my own and we have done it ever since. We also make the little cream cheese dumplings you will sometimes see at Chinese buffets. So easy. Just some tips....and loved your recipe for the crunch wraps.

Is it one of those ones that you stick in the meat then has a wire that sits outside the oven so you can read it without opening the oven. I've seen some people use ones like that here on KZbin and it definitely would have come in handy for the brisket

I've never made my own crunchwraps but I should, yours look so good - they're my favorite from Taco Bell too. And the $5 grande nacho box when they have it. Wow you got a great deal on that brisket! It looked really delicious too, (I don't mind when it's fall apart tender like that.) I never knew Aldi did these markdowns before watching you, my local store is quite busy and often sells out if things so I think maybe they don't have anything left to mark down. The Aldi by my work does have markdowns though and I've found some good deals recently. I got 5lbs of boneless chicken breast for $4 and this week I got 2.5lbs of the 90% lean ground beef for only $5-something! I live by myself so that got me stocked up for awhile. 🙌🏻🎉

The best egg rolls are from Sam’s the brand is Minh. I have tried all brands that Kroger and Walmart carry and didn’t like any of them. I always buy at Sam’s when we go our nearest Sam’s is an hour away.
