Believe it or not, Quinton seems to LOVE the boom from this new Taylor Dreadnought, the 210ce Plus. Could be the X-bracing? Could be the tonewood combination? Maybe it's just nice to see Taylor going back to the "10" dreadnought body shape? Whatever it is, this guitar seems to have it!! Do you agree?

Picked up this guitar about a month and a half ago and I love it. This video's audio does not do it justice. This guitar's resonance and power feels and sounds amazing, especially when I play it standing up. It easily reverberates my entire chest cavity, takes my breath away and leaves me feeling tingly. It has a punchiness similar to that of most Martin guitars, but it sounds LARGER than most Martin guitars as well. I think I still generally prefer the Martin sound, but I might just prefer this guitar all around. Just my 2 cents.

Remember the Yamaha Fgx5? You said that had guitar booty, too. So which has more guitar booty, the Yamaha Fgx5 or this Taylor? About the same price, but the Yammy is all solid wood.

Do you think this guitar has more of a bigger sound than say the Yamaha FG 830. I’ve been thinking of getting it all solid wood guitar but if that guitar sounds that good I may get it I’ve been wanting to get a Taylor anyhow.

Nice and balanced: bass not as huge as a Martin dreadnought, but mids and highs more articulate and with a lot more projection.

Woah - Taylor is returning the 10 series? I still have my 310ce and love it - it was my first REAL acoustic guitar outside of my Epiphone. All American, all solid woods, electronics were meh though. I still can't love it plugged in, even with an upgraded ES2 (done by Taylor, RIDICULOUSLY expensive btw)

Good magnet pickup is the best. It doesn't sound acoustic, but it doesn't sound annoying and has electric guitar capabilities, you can alwsys remove it, it almost doesn't affect acoustic sound, yadda yadda yadda.

Just bought this guitar today. Oh my God. It plays even bigger than it looks. The video does not capture the clarity and intricacy of tone. FYI, if I were to put its voice in terms of an EQ, it would be a slight V. It's not that the mids are lacking - they're clear. It's that there is a tonal boost to the highs and lows.

@charlesbolton8471
@charlesbolton8471 4 жыл бұрын
Vivek Dahal You are so right. Taylor’s “layered” bodies are extremely well made, and tops are solid wood on every model that they make unlike many other brands. People love to hate on “laminate” acoustic guitars, but you never hear people complaining about Gibson’s ES-335 (and the other ES models) being laminate. For what it’s worth, the Taylor laminates have a poplar core, with a thin veneer on the each side. The veneer on the inside of the body is usually Sapele, and of course the outside veneer will vary by model. It is definitely not just a low budget plywood.

There's a documentary-type video on KZbin of Greenfield guitars (out of Canada) where the luthier narrates himself building one of his highly sought after acoustics. If I remember correctly, one of his most basic models starts around $20K.. after a client secures a build with a substantial amount of money for a deposit, the waiting list for that build to begin is over a year (could possibly be 2-3 years). Anyway, he layers wood for the sides because of the added strength and rigidity. The back and sides of an acoustic guitar are responsible for a large percentage of the projection and volume. Though the choice of wood for the back/sides factors into the overall tone, the top wood is what interacts most with the string's vibrations. As well, the internal bracing pattern, material, and quality contribute greatly to the potential capabilities of the top (tones, resonating/overtones, etc). The reason tops are usually crafted from soft woods is because of their ability to transfer sound waves from string vibration. Hard woods are used for the back and sides to reverberate and project as much of the top wood's tone as possible, most of which escapes out of the sound hole.. it works as a "speaker." Because of that, layered/laminate wood, which is usually much stiffer than a single layer of thin hard wood, can be utilized to produce an acoustic guitar with lots of volume, great responsiveness, and can last a very long time. Laminate wood is less susceptible to warping due to changes in its environment and it can help preserve important natural resources.. but whatever, it's basically plywood and most guitarists are talented enough to justify them needing an all-solid wood acoustic so their magnificent heavenly created riffs can be natural, raw, unadulterated, and truly appreciated..

Sounds great...but it seems to me more like a reason for Taylor to inflate their prices
@DJWRailroad
@DJWRailroad 4 жыл бұрын
Well, these are made right across the border from Taylor's headquarters'/mfg so, for one, Taylor management is there almost everyday and, two, despite being in Tecate, skilled, RELIABLE labor for quality output is not cheap, even if it is Mehico. Having owned a 214 (which I gave to the neighbor who was a relative new guitarist) as my "trash" guitar (large gatherings, parties with possible "stumbling drunks"), these 200 series are really impressive guitars for the price point. So, no, from that experience with this Taylor category, as well as visits to the Taylor factory, the excellent manufacturing quality, I don't consider these prices to be inflated at all. But players would have to hold one of these to appreciate the solid build, excellent sound and playability. Knowing that quality and excellent output, I consider $1200 to be an excellent value. The neighbor kid tells me how much he loves his 214, his parents tell me that now they won't have to worry about paying for an upgrade while he's living at home!

@@sooparticular Thanks Chris. Those folks in Tecate really do take pride in their work, they're not just there to earn a dollar or...peso rather. Mistakes can happen, but buyers would be hard-pressed to find a bad or even marginally poor workmanship out of that Tecate facility. Just great craftsmanship. Nice demo on the Gib, btw (and amp of course!).
