To avoid any confusion... "The 1989 World Tour" is just the name of the tour. This performance happened in 2015, as it is stated in the description and on the video itself (0:13). Why is that the name? Taylor named her fifth studio album, "1989", after her year of birth, therefore, that was the name given to her forth headlining tour, in support of this album. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

and Taylor named her album "1989" because it symbolized two things about the album's direction: 1. That the music in the album is inspired by 80's synth-pop 2. And that this is her first album to be promoted as a pop album. (Her previous album, Red, can be interpreted as pop but it wasn't promoted as such.) Her switch from country to pop showed a rebirth of her artistry, so that's why she used her birth year.

How hard would you try, if you were standing next to the raw power that is Alanis? She's a monster vocalist. Taylor needed to bring her A game, or get upstaged. I noticed Alanis mic was a little quiet, probably because shes so loud and powerful. Dynamite comes in small packages. Reminds me of Pat Benatar.

I'm not sure if you're implying Taylor is better?! I love both but Alanis is incomparable.

@@junkie.9208 I love taylor so much but that’s a huge disrespect to Alanis. Her emotional writing and vocals really inspired the female singers of today and Jagged Little Pill sold 33 million copies.

@@junkie.9208 You literally heard Taylor pay homage to Alanis for the insane amount she did for female musicians (which has been echoed by countless big artists) and you want to discredit her because Taylor had done well for herself? Give your head a shake man
