The timing of this makes it John Mayer. She was 19, he was 32. !?! You caught the Easter Egg of the guitar sound. She may have been 21 at this performance but she was 19 when it happened. She wrote 'Would've, Could've, Should've" when she was 32. It is track 19. It is her reflecting as an adult. Every young woman who has been meddled with by a much older adult male screams at the sky along with her when we hear this song. I cry every single time. She gets hate for standing up for herself. It only makes her fans support her more.

This is from the speak now tour. She released this in 2010 so this was probably 2011. This is one of my favorite performances. She is an amazing entertainer. This was before all too well. Dear John was my surprise song last year, so it’s extra special to me. I still can’t believe she played it, we all went crazy. She hadn’t played it in over ten years I believe, and she hasn’t repeated it yet, not sure if she will or not, but it was so awesome to see live!

Taylor officially dated John when she was 19 and he was 32. But he “slit into her dm,s” way earlier. John contacted her personally via social media (not her team) and asked her to do a duet with him. They recorded the duet, toured together and THEN officially dated… John has been toxic/abusive in several relationships he for instance totally slut-shamed Jessica Simpson on Radio after their breakup. After Dear John was released he allegedly tried to sue Taylor. When that failed he wrote a revenge song (paper doll) allegedly he’s kept trying to sue her, wrote her angry mails during all the years since. Would’ve could’ve should’ve which also is about John was released when Taylor was 32 and it’s track 19 on the album. This relationship and the one with Jake Gyllenhaal really seems to have impacted her, her self worth and self esteem. She talks about this also on her latest album.
