Lovely reaction as always. I just want to make sure you don't forget the bonus track, "the lakes". And "Peace" is one of my favorites. :)

The interview, the song, and the reaction are deeply insightful. I also am new to discovering the depths of Taylor Swift. She's an impressive human being, in many ways. Respect.

I know you put these reactions out a number of months ago, but as you were talking about the things Taylor was saying about Mirrorball and your own experiences about being “on” and what that does to you over time, all of a sudden made me connect this song to “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” on the new The Tortured Poets Department album. It really portrays another side of those concepts and what it looks like to keep going and be “on” in a way that others don’t even have a clue that you are shattered on the inside. Have loved watching your reactions. As someone who felt the same as you 9 months ago and was curious and fascinated with why so many people are so infatuated by her so I started the rabbit hole and now I know. Interestingly it was also My Tears Ricochet that also swung the pendulum for me, but it was started for me watching a few of the main live performances from the Reputation Tour where I quickly realized that she is not at all what I thought and I was impressed, but My Tears Ricochet sealed the deal. I will say, if Folklore is really all you have done so far you have not even scratched the surface of her range and breadth and depth and variety. Basically no album is like another (although within albums she has spoken about making them sonically and thematically cohesive since maybe her 3rd album if I remember). But between albums while you can maybe hear the influences of her most commonly used producers, they are all different flavors and almost different genres abs frankly if you jump around rather than doing full albums as you discover her work, it is almost like experiencing a brand new artist with every song in a weird way. Just when you think you understand her style or approach or sound something else comes along that makes you realize you still have no idea. I have found that reality the most interesting thing in light of one of the most commonly held beliefs and narratives about her is that all her music sounds the same and it is all breakup songs that appeal to 14 year old girls (oh and that she can’t really sing and doesn’t have the ability to engage in any power vocals, etc) . Nothing could be further from the actual truth, I have now found. I hope you continue on the journey with her and experience some of the variety other than Folklore, as phenomenal as it is. Given your reactions so far, I don’t think you will be disappointed or feel it was a wast of your time.

Wow, I thought your last comment was a great read - but this was brilliant! Particularly the part about darting around as opposed to doing whole projects... I think what's also awesome, is that you were where I was at! So you have that relatability! So thanks so much for the pearly words and for taking the time to scribe out such a thoughtful response! 🤪❤️

Idk.. one I know my dad would've loved this. Two. I always think of Forrest Gump and how children rationalize what's happening in their lives without really knowing what's going on. Brilliant and suuuupppppeerrr sad at the same time. Bless her mind😥

Oh! I left you a comment but I should mention that you may want to watch some of Taylor’s concerts. I think her level of energy, that magical gift of an Amazing voice, the jaw-dropping lyrics, and how in concert, she so brings it, should definitely bring you serious pleasure. Let me know? I missed out on Taylor for so long before becoming a Swiftie, that I just want others to see what a gift we are being given by having Taylor Swift in our presence. I’m a “tad” older than many Swifties and I’ve had the privilege of hearing some of the greats. That said, No one has ever been able to come close to touching my heart & soul like Taylor Swift. I so hope you enjoy❣️🫶

If you want meaning and content, check out the pre song interview, then the song “This is Me Trying”, it’s stunning, and her ‘interview’ with Jack beforehand really gives you an insight into what an empathic person Taylor is. 🙂🌸

I'm thinking you might enjoy her "making of a song" videos from Reputation.

I mean, Jude, the only reason why I subscribed to you is to see if you could come up with a review that would give Taylor Swift music the honor it deserves.

I think that your criteria for liking a singer is all present in Taylor Swift. Unfortunately, if you’re looking for her songs where she really showcases her amazing, amazing vocals, perhaps you should have saved Folklore The Long Pond Album for another time because as you saw, it is pure musical poetry that touches the soul. I suggest you try Taylor’s Reputation, Speak Now, and 1988 to see how this master combines it all! I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

The audio of the video you're reacting to sounds a little off. But anyway, loved your reaction. Highly recommend listening to the studio version as well. ✌

Seems like you didn’t do Betty or cardigan. Part of the love triangle with august. If not you should! If so and I haven’t found it just ignore me 🥰🥰

so I’m still waiting for you to review “reputation “the concert and “1989 “the concert because she seemed to want a lot of high end, bells, and whistles performances which Taylor can give an abundance which she does all the time. So what’s up? Are you gonna do it? Or is it just better for you to just say oh she doesn’t reach the highness and the loneliness and she doesn’t jam because you’re listening listening to a non-jamming and amazing album with folklore. Are you gonna do it or not?
