I feel like she's so much more confident and self assured. When people would compliment her in the past, she would look down and get really embarrassed, as if she didn't give herself enough credit. ***** I get where you're coming from. But I think songwriting is an emotional, dramatic way of expressing your life. A lot of times songs are much worse than reality because I'm sure we all exaggerate stuff in our heads. When we're young and we breakup with someone, it can seem like the end of the world, even though it's obviously not and you'll move on eventually. You know what I mean? And a lot of singers write about things that don't last very long. There are countless rappers that sing about the one time they had sex with that one girl that one night. Or singers talking about that one time they saw that person and they fell in love, even though that's kinda bull. Lol. And I think the media exploits the guys more than Taylor does. The only time she said who the song was about was Joe with Forever and Always. And she's even said she was really immature there and will never do that again. We make mistakes when we're young and angry. And yes, she could date a normal guy, but I don't think that would change her outlook about writing about her life because that's just what singers do. Normal or famous. Maybe it's just a coincidence that the boyfriends are famous because she works in that industry with them. It's like us finding boyfriends in school or our work. We don't mean to always find people we like in the place we work, it just happens because they're right there. Anyways, those are just my thoughts. I respect your opinion though! No hate here. :) And of course none of us will never know Taylor personally. This is just my take on the situation. :D

If someone came up to me and said you need to date someone from a different school than yours or someone who has a different career than you, I would be like "What the f**k?!" HAHAH And she did date someone that was relatively random. Connor Kennedy wasn't really know by many unless you follow the Kennedy clan, but when Taylor dated them, he got much more popular. It's like her exposing her innermost thoughts to the world. She's not writing songs to impress people, she writing songs to express her feelings and hopefully help others express theirs. I haven't had an ex but there's just that relatable vibe to her songs. I never get tired of them. When she writes a song I don't think about "ooh, another ex, who's it for?" It's because her label is considered country, and itunes classifies artists by their record label and genre that the label posesses. As long as she's with Big Machine Records, it will always say that when she comes out with an album. You can change it in your library, though!

You know i used to love her from her first album up until Speak Now because there were a lot of bitter songs on there and it seemed like she was a person who was becoming very revengeful. Now granted I do not know her personally i should not have said/thought sexist things about her or her writing (even if her character made me cringe) but now especially since 1989 i think she has done a lot of growing. She seems like a completely different person. She's much more put together and thought out. It's weird to say but i am insanely proud of her. She is a full on adult and this album is amazing. And about a year and a half ago i realized everyone sings about love and all these excuses i had to "hate" her and her music were just wrapped up in jealous or incorrect judgement. I now see that what i thought of her and her songwriting was rather sexist and i am so so so happy to see her now for what she truly is. We all change and grow up and mature and it's weird that we both have throughout the same timeframe. Weird. Anyway, love this interview love Taylor and I think we should always encourage each other in the best way possible because she seems like an amazing girl. (:

People have wayy too much free time. I just view Taylor's songs as mini rom-com musical and that's it. Speak now : Arranged marriage, Love story: Modern Romeo and Juliet. YBWM : Highschool sweet jock being an idiot; IKYWT : Dating a bad boy; Red: Being dumped. Back to December : You're the bad guy in a relatonship. Mine : struggling Young adults in college. Blank Space: How media portrays Taylor; Wildest Dreams: being the 'other woman' . I think it's beautiful how she can create write songs which all depict as if it happened to her. A lot of it is always metaphorical instead of literal right? And Unless she name drops we need to consider them to be metaphorical and see if the song fits our life instead of her llife.

She's grown up a lot. I respect her for dealing with the negative comments she's been given. One thing I do have to disagree with her on is the sexist comment. At first, I completely agreed with her but then I thought more about it. She's literally the only female artist people say she writes about her love life too much, even though most to all female artists write or sing about love lives (Adele is a graceful example) and people still love them. The factor here isn't the gender, it has to be who she's dating and how public the relationship is.

I think it has a lot to do with public perception. I know this probably won't make sense, but its easy to hate on a pretty,typical blonde hair, blue eyed,skinny teen country artist (when she started) who has comparatively limited vocal range, than hate a slightly big boned, not quintessentially 'pretty', artist with an extremely powerful voice who started her career just as her teen years ended, older and wiser. Basically, Taylor Swift , when she started off was extremely young, and looked like a typical gorgeous blonde haired bimbo. Of course it easy to hate on the 'bimbo' who probably spends all her time around boys and comes from a wealthy family than hate on the 'soulful' singer who didn't get the record deal 'because of her looks', and had to work night shifts to fund herself. Its easy to hate on someone who's had a life most would call easy. Also, the media focuses on Taylor's relationships because she dates celebs. If Adele were to date celebs and write love songs, then I doubt her themes would go down as gracefully. I think its totally unfair either way, specially since Taylor's biggest hits don't even touch upon heartbreak. Just my opinion. :)

Farishte Irani Yeah, that's what I was saying about the celebrity thing. She seems to only date public figures. If she were known for writing songs about men not in the public eye, she would not get criticized as much because then people would not know who the songs were about and not try to play detective on her personal life. Adele was only one example though. People do not criticize Katy Perry or really ANY female singer for love songs as much as Taylor Swift.

Also, i don't know if that's even his real name, cause she said that the song was written about a guy who sat next to her and she had a crush on but he never paid any romantic attention to her and he had a girlfriend. She also said that Drew was the name of her first boyfriend when she was 15 so she might've just slapped his name onto the song when she started dating him
