I feel like the “State of Grace” at the start of the album is the younger self going through young love that’s truly unruly and naive- but the “State of Grace (acoustic version)” is an older, wiser version of the same girl. Acoustic version sees beauty in the madness that’s passed, but isn’t pulled into it anymore. It’s made peace with the memories and is reflecting on them for what they truly were- scars, wonder, and all. Naivety at the beginning of the album feels more energetic, but knowledge at the end of the album feels more stable and exquisite.
