I’ve found that a lot of her rep to lover era performances of her older songs have a prominent feeling that the emotions she put into the originals are long gone. But there’s something beautiful about this one. I was reminiscing just the other day While having coffee all alone and Lord, it took me away Back to a first-glance feeling on New York Time Back when you fit in my poems like a perfect rhyme Took off faster than a green light "Go" Hey, you skip the conversation when you already know I left a note on the door with a joke we'd made And that was the first day And darling, it was good never looking down And right there where we stood was holy ground Spinning like a girl in a brand new dress We had this big wide city all to ourselves We blocked the noise with the sound of "I need you" And for the first time I had something to lose And I guess we fell apart in the usual way And the story's got dust on every page But sometimes I wonder how you think about it now And I see your face in every crowd 'Cause darling, it was good never looking down And right there where we stood was holy ground Tonight I'm gonna dance for all that we've been through But I don't wanna dance if I'm not dancing with you Tonight I'm gonna dance like you were in this room But I don't wanna dance if I'm not dancing with you It was good never looking down And right there where we stood was holy ground Tonight I'm gonna dance for all that we've been through But I don't wanna dance if I'm not dancing with you Tonight I'm gonna dance like you were in this room But I don't wanna dance if I'm not dancing with you

I’ve watched all 6 performances and all 6 are flawless. Her vocal control is really good. She hit all the notes, she approached the melody differently depends on the lyrics, and most importantly she put emotion into it. Yeah she may not be a powerhouse vocalist, but she’s a damn good singer. Her range is getting wider as well, try to sing all 6 songs she just performed, the low notes are low and the highs are actually quite high. And she keeps improving. She’s really really great. And I just love her tone, so soothing and beautiful.

She’s a goddess! I mean, this performance doesn’t have multiple dancers, lights, or pizzazz, it’s just her playing the piano and singing beautifully. Even the backing vocals went perfectly, and when she started singing with them, I got goosebumps. Ladies and Gentlemen, here’s the music industry.

10 Facts you probably didn’t know about Taylor Swift’s Holy Ground. 1. The song was written by Taylor, while the production was handled by Jeff Bhasker. 2. This lyrics begun in February 2012. 3. In the song, Taylor is looking back at a whirl wind relationship from her past. She’s realizing just because the relationship didn’t work out, doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good memory or that it was wasted time. The memories are still safe and sacred. Just because Taylor and the guy weren’t meant to be, doesn’t mean she can’t look back fondly at the time they spent together. Every mistake is a lesson learned. 4. She wrote this song about her first love at 18. 5. The hidden message of the song is "When you came to the show in SD". 6. Rumors of the song being about Jonas were fueled by his appearance at Taylor's San Diego show during the Speak Now World Tour. 7. She played this song and "The Lucky One" for Jeff Bhasker, acoustically, in the studio, the first time he heard them. 8. Paul Sidoti, guitarist of Taylor, says that this song is "probably the mostly the most poweful and rocking song" he has ever performed with Taylor. 9. Amos, basist of Taylor, this song is his favorite song to perform on the RED TOUR 10. A fan at the Nashville 1989 Secret Session asked her whta the background vocals in Holy Ground were saying and she said they were just "vocalizations to represent happiness." Lyrics : [Verse 1] I was reminiscing just the other day While having coffee all alone, and Lord, it took me away Back to a first-glance feeling on New York time Back when you fit in my poems like a perfect rhyme Took off faster than a green light, go Hey, you skip the conversation when you already know I left a note on the door with a joke we'd made And that was the first day [Chorus] And darling, it was good Never looking down And right there where we stood Was holy ground [Verse 2] Spinning like a girl in a brand new dress We had this big wide city all to ourselves We blocked the noise with the sound of, "I need you" And for the first time, I had something to lose And I guess we fell apart in the usual way And the story's got dust on every page But sometimes, I wonder how you think about it now And I see your face in every crowd [Chorus] 'Cause darling, it was good Never looking down And right there where we stood Was holy ground [Bridge] Tonight, I'm gonna dance For all that we've been through But I don't wanna dance If I'm not dancing with you Tonight, I'm gonna dance Like you were in this room But I don't wanna dance If I'm not dancing with you [Chorus] It was good Never looking down And right there where we stood Was holy ground [Outro] Tonight, I'm gonna dance For all that we've been through But I don't wanna dance If I'm not dancing with you Tonight, I'm gonna dance Like you were in this room But I don't wanna dance If I'm not dancing with you
