I love your reaction it's so cool to see somebody who actually gives taylor swift a chance before judging her. And btw this song was actually a political statment. As taylor swift for many years of her career never gave any opinion regarding politics because she was always trapped in that "good girl" box until she finally found her own voice to speak about things like LGBTQ community rights or issues like body image and many other things she started claiming even on her social media. So even if this song wasn't really fan favorite but it was an important video for her to make so she can say loud and clear that she has an opinion too and she's not just a pretty girl who writes breakup songs.

Just want to point out one moment in the music video. In the end you see french fry Taylor and burger Katy Perry. It was a cultural reset for real. Because they had a beef for a very long time. And Bad Blood is the song about Katy Perry. So in the end of the video they appear together to show the media and people that they are friends now. For many people it was shocking because nobody expect that to happen. Now we need a collab!

Katy Perry and Taylor made a song together. They were very good friends for a long time. After that show, Katy literally took some of Taylor’s best dancers and left Taylor in the lurch during a tour. Katy knew what she was doing and didn’t care that it hurt Taylor’s feelings but also her tour. ALSO, Taylor treats her performers very well so for them to leave also had to be very hurtful. This year alone, she gave $55M in bonuses to the performers and crew and to the 50 main truck drivers, her dad, Scott, personally handed them a check for $100K along with a note directly from Taylor thanking them for their dedication, hard work and support. Showmotion’s owner came out and said that most of the drivers don’t have homes, so this was life changing money for them. This was not their regular pay, but a bonus from Taylor. No one can say that she’s not generous or genuine. She’s the real deal. ❤

her beef with kim k im sure youve learned about by now but the beef was the whole kanye thing. in september of 2009 he interrupted her acceptance speech for best female music video (i think) and said "imma let you finish but beyonce had one of the greatest music videos of all time blah blah blah." people were booing him (obviously! she was i think 19 or 20 at the time) but she thought they were booing her. anyway, she was hurt. kanye and her made up afterwards and a few years later when he was writing his song famous he called taylor to ask her permission to mention her in the song, and she agreed. kim filmed the call happening and then kanye released the song a little while later, including the lyrics that taylor agreed to ("i think taylor and me might still have sex") and also included ones that she did NOT agree to ("why? i made that bitch famous"). she made her distaste for that narrative known and kim posted an EDITED version of the phone call. that started the #taylorswiftisoverparty hashtag and taylor was public enemy #1 and went into hiding where she was not physically seen for a year besides her immediate circle (family, few friends, her team). eventually it got out that the video was edited and people turned on kim k and kanye, mostly swifties.

Anyone let you know why the term "Swifties" ? She did a movie (Valentine's Day) in 2009 and her bf in the film was Taylor Lautner. Every time anyone on set yelled Hey Taylor they'd both react. So she told them to call _him_ Taylor, and _her_ Swiftie. She told the story in an interview, and the fans just ran with it.

The thing about Taylor, regardless if you like her or not, she does Epic things with her platform. This song - showing a public support for the LGBQT scene. She was sexually harassed by a man in a position of power - she sued him - went through a pretty public trial - for $1. She is remaking all of her songs (Taylor's Version) so that SHE can own rights to her music - something mist of the public didn't even realize was an issue artist's had to deal with. She does a TON that has left of mark
