ahhhhh, the video is fire. love the rx. So the video doesn't really go with the song. The video is actually somewhat similar to anti-hero. There is a good Taylor being held captive by the bad Taylor. In a way, it could say that she is her own worst enemy (similar to Anti-Hero) but more specifically that she is the one that is holding herself back. The good Taylor beats the evil Taylor and breaks free from the constraints that she puts on herself and leaves that behind and walks away. The video is saying that Taylor is breaking free from her old self, into a new self that is not going to be held back, limited by herself (this can be extended to media gossip and trash) . This video has another meaning, in 2016 she was "cancelled". So, this also symbolizes leaving behind that version of herself, climbing back up (the end she is climbing up the stairs) to the top as someone and something new. This theme is also in the Look What you Made me Do music video when she leaves behind and destroys the old Taylor and is forced to become something new to survive. That is similar here, she is destroying who she once was and emerging fresh and new.

This song is also spectacular live. I'd love for you to do a back to back of the music video vs live version. This video had so much hidden meaning in I that you had to be living it to catch. It's as if her "alter ego" is jealous of the better part of her and wanted to cut it down. The good natured version if her is being held hostage for research and doesn't really know she's a slave of science yet. But the jealous alter ego is gonna come ruin her world and inadvertently set the good version free. But everything comes at a cost. Cause now the good version of her has been tainted with the bad. Which is probably what it's been quarantined from all its life in that clear cage. It's almost like she was foreshadowing but you'd have to be looking back in hindsight to see that.
