You got that one wrong mate.. it's wrong to compare.. allan stone was influenced by allan stone..
@erniegamboa56093 жыл бұрын
Recognizing influence and making comparisons are two different things "mate".. here are Allen's own words "“I picked up the guitar when I was about 12”, he continues. “My pops taught me a few chords. At first, I started writing really corny songs for the neighbourhood girls. Then I hit 15, 16, and fell in love with the soul tradition. I started singing along all day every day to Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway, Gladys Knight, D’Angelo, Soulchild. Never took any music classes, never had any formal training. Just sang and sang to these beautiful voices.” ~Allen Stone If you can't hear Stevie's style in Allen's voice then you either don't know anything about singing and music or you're just plain tone deaf.

This guy would never have to perform. His song writing alone is at the highest level. Not only musically, but his messages are powerful and worded in ways that make language an art. Those who call yourselves poets should recognize.

Lucky you Tonya! I love his story, his songs, and his incredible love of music; not to mention his attention to his fans. I've hoped someone like him would come along and put music back on track. I've been a full time musician for 25 years, performing and recording and I've been depressed at what had become of the industry but this young man has showed me there is still hope! What a great representitive.
@zacharycollett545610 жыл бұрын
dude, this sounds like 20 others songs I have heard before. It makes me sad that people think this is good songwriting. He took a chord progression from another song and wrote his own words.

Tonya Ballman Listen to Tera Melos (or really most math rock bands) or The Number Twelve Looks Like you and tell me that it isn't completely original. I will post a video of the show I played over this past weekend and tag you in it. There is a TON of music that is brand new. There are influences yes, but it isn't regurgitated like this.

Kevin Lee I am mad, but not because this guy has talent, but because people defend him for having a bubblegum overused john mayer, gavin degraw sounding voice. I shit music like this out no sweat. I have before, and I got great responses. But it's just too boring and I feel like I'm selling my soul for a dollar. But, to answer your question, look up "Heart of Life" by John Mayer. It's basically just a better version of this song.

At least as it pertains to KZbin. I'm...for lack of a better word, bewildered. As to how very often (( in my personal opinion )) the most original and talented artist are in fact, the very same ones, we know little or anything about. I'll put it like this, every time I stumble across an artist such as Allen Stone. I see it as fates way of telling me, I've been wasting entirely too much time, listening to ((compared to this) total bullshit. Top notch talent my friend. Thank you for sharing it in a place myself and others would eventually find.
@piperpilot268 жыл бұрын
There are many reasons and theories as to why this happens. I've been a music connoisseur for many years now. Seeking out some of the finest form of the art is what I enjoy doing. What I've come to realize is that music is much like food. It's far easier and more convenient to go to a McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts than it is to say, try and find a family owned 4 star restaurant or café. People simply don't want to be bothered with searching out quality music. They just want to flip on the radio and listen to what ever is presented to them. Also, a taste and recognition for good music has to be developed over time, much like a taste for a fine wine. This constantly changes over time. Easy listening music, such as pop, is specifically designed with one purpose in mind. To sell, and to spread as fast as possible. That vast majority of the music that is presented to you is also designed and marketed for teens and young adults. The main selling point has nothing to do with the actual quality of the music itself, but the persona and lifestyle of the "Artist" that is "performing" it, which from a business perspective makes sense seeing as the majority of teens and young adults don't have a developed musical ear. Asking a kid to tell you what is good in terms of music would be like asking him his or her opinion on what the best chateauneuf du pape is. The industry sees this, and thus keeps churning out shit.

It's cool if you're here because Justin brought you here, but that doesn't mean you have to tell everyone that you're here for that reason. When I scroll through the comments and see that there are hundreds of girls making the same post it's kind of offensive because as an Allen Stone fan I think that he should be getting more recognition than hundreds of thousands of views and then another hundreds of thousands of comments about Justin. Not trying to hate, just saying that maybe the comments should have more to do with Allen Stone and less to do with an instagram post by Justin Bieber.
