Why are people giving this dude shit? He had an accident so he's limited on flexibility and in turn club head speed. Yet he's still out there playing the game he loves and getting better. He'd probably still beat those shit talkers on the course anyways. As a teacher I hate to hear people giving someone the gears for trying to get better, we need more people in the game not less.

Thank Rob for me. Am a 19 handicap and his swing looks great compared to mine. Enjoy all the video's. Just can't seem to get the downswing started in the right sequences. Have tried all the drills still can't hit a 7 iron 120 yards.

Keep the reviews coming Rob and ignore the trolls, your reviews are very interesting for the average golfer. Also it doesn't matter how far you hit the ball, it's how consistent you hit it and how much enjoyment you get out of the game. And you look like you achieve both these things. Just a little insight for you Rob I'm also not a big hitter I only carry my 7iron 140m, but I still manage to play off 6-8hcp. It took me a while to not be so hung up on distance, but since I have stopped worrying about it my game has improved and I'm enjoying it more. Also their is nothing more satisfying then watching your mate hit drive after drive past you but end up beating him by 10 or more shots :) Keep up the good work Ric and Rob
@gretel10158 жыл бұрын
Rob, I am so glad that Rick has you review clubs. Your game is much easier, for us mere mortals, to identify with. Rick hits incredible shots but much further than most of us. Rick, I am wondering what is the best shaft for Rob. At his swing speed shouldn't he use a regular shaft. I was in a local PGA Tour Superstore near Atlanta and the majority of the used iron sets were stiff. They were telling me that very often people buy sets with the stiff shaft without really getting fitted for what they needed and then discover they needed a regular shaft. Some of the iron sets were almost brand new.

Ignore the trolls Rob. While I don't always profess to understand your northern sense of humour, I admire you putting it out there. I'm a head taller than you but barely hit it any further and I haven't had an accident (unless you count slipping off the bridge and scrapping my shin on the fifth hole at my club, which really smarted and still hasn't healed properly)

Hey man, if Rob only hits his 7 iron 135 yds (carry) and is a 13 handicapper, that's not bad at all. Must have an incredible game from 100 yds in or super accurate with long irons. I'm guessing since his clubspeed is a little slower, he's probably got very little dispersion throughout the bag. No matter what, all that matters is the score on the card at the end of the day.

Thanks Rick & Rob. Great videos!! Whomever the guy was that was bragging about how far he hits his 9 iron, I'd NEVER want to play with him. He sounds like the low handicap golfer that takes it so seriously that he grinds over 18" putts and throws his clubs when he doesn't break 80. Those guys suck all the enjoyment out of playing golf. I'd much rather play with cool guys with no egos. Keep up the good work, guys I know how much time and effort these videos truly take to make. Thanks again. :)

***** Hey Rob. I'm going back and forth between the RSi 2's and the XR Pro's. It appears your were about 2 yards longer, on average, with the XR Pro's (which is insignificant, to me). What are your thoughts on forgiveness on the two? Theoretically, the RSi 2's would be more forgiving on toe hits, which is my more common misshit. Thanks again for the videos. GREAT job.

Went to a golf show today and had a chance to test these irons and yes they are really loud when you hit them and it's a very odd sound. Unfortunately I wasn't a big fan of them and they really didn't work for me. I got a chance to hit the ping G30 and the Callaway XR and the XR was by far my favorite. Good to see you Rob, swing looks like it's coming along nicely but miss the beard, haha

These are what I went with.I tried every club out there and these blew all of them outta the water.After purchasing them I hit a m2 and thought"uh oh,migh tbe returning the RSI 2's"after hitting htem both,I got close to the same hieght and my rsi2 where a tad longer and accuracy was the same.
@austinh079 жыл бұрын
I bought these clubs, and I have to say, the best mid irons set out there. I have hit the AP2's and the RSI2's are just a better set overall. The face slots do what they are supposed to. The ones I have hit fat are 10-20 yds short vs 20-40 yds with my previous set. Thin shots, toes, and heel shots are the same story. Very forgiving as well

Great review guys, I saw these in the store the other day and thought there wasn't much between RSi1 & 2. And Rob, I look forward to your reviews as much as Ricks as it's more relatable to me, it's good to hear your opinions and I've been eager to hear your comparison of the RSi and XRs. I agreed with your comments about the lofts as well, I don't hit it that far and if I can get an iron that is more on a par with everyone else, I don't care how. I sometimes have to play 3 irons lower than some people to get the same distance.

Don't worry about griefers on your distances, tbh though your swing speed looks quicker on video than around the 70s mph listed on the gc2. Maybe if rick could do a video with you on thoughts\things to try and see what would boost your speed (eg. Like more inside path, more handsy release etc.) Like someone said distance isn't everything. If you could test the srixon Z range, would especially like to see if the z945 (blades) can be used by mid handicapper or whether they would have to go with Z745.

It looked like you were miss-aiming a bit ( if the centre line on the screen was your target ) your dispertion is ridiculous , I doubt many people could hit it that tight on camera knowing it will be on youtube. I doubt you can hit it that tight on the course Rob. Rob's ( perceived ) lack of length with a 7 iron is irrelevant. If you are 130 carry to the front of the green, then you are using a precise club not a distance club, and Rob was very precise with his shots

I have watch the RSI 1 and 2 vids and the Callys. The Callys won over but there was a different shaft. And that could be the difference. It appeared, though you did not mention, that you were using KBS shafts in the Callys compared to the stock shaft in the TM. If you are going to compare manufacturer products, you should do so on an even playing field, don't you think? I mean try to be as scientific as possible to give us a proper realistic difference. You should use the same shafts, that are fit for the tester in all iron comparisons.

I know guys off 1 who shoot in the 60's with big chunky ping g30's, why try to use the least forgiving clubs for your handicap. 'I'm single figures my clubs shouldn't have much offset.' Nonsense.

yea i feel you i use my old titleist zb forged irons an 907 d2 driver my whole set is old an ive been under 6 since i got them in like 2007 or around there clubs dont do shit for handicap
@clayfleming62869 жыл бұрын
Low offset clubs should have nothing to do with your handicap, more about how you strike the ball. I play a draw on good days, fight a hook on bad days. Clubs with a lot of offset like the standard XR or RSi1 are hook machines for me. Found the Bridgestone J15DF does a great job of providing forgiveness without much offset.

The so-called slot technology has been around for years. it absolutely sickens me to see everyone worrying about what brand club is in their hands. last time i checked the only way to improve ones game was to CHANGE THE SWING. i still play my rocketbladez and i hit them well. people, stop believing the hype and work on the swing mechanics and stop worrying about useless stuff like face slots.
