I picked up a used set of these and they are nice irons. I got GW - 4 and they are forged to 8 iron. 7 iron and above are cast and have weighting on the bottom to help lower the CG and help get longer irons higher flights. Good irons set. Good feel and forgiving. I usually game Mizuno JPX 850 forged. Handicap is 8, age is 69. Cheers.

Bought these recently.... can't Believe how forgiving they are I've hit some of the best shots I have in years coming from a Cleveland TA 3 slightly cavity back iron to these just amazing

Went into the shop today to have my lofts cranked a bit stronger (mp64's with xp 105 shafts in) ended up hitting quite a few different clubs with various shafts in , AP2's, jpx 825 and 850's even the callaway big Bertha just for a bit of a laugh, then the pro brought the RSI 2's out with KBS tour shafts in !!! Well it was just ridiculous !! Consistent 185+ carry and going over 200 yards total with a 6 iron ! I'm always sceptical of the machine u hit into but the yardages with my 6 iron were what I thought it was, or thereabouts, maybe a bit shorter actually , well from going to have the lofts strengthened on my clubs I ended up trading them in for the TM's ! So there's me £500 lighter thinking I'd be spending about £20 !!! Think it's a great iron tbh ! And we're only here once !!!

Mark! Love your course vlogs! Come down to Cumberwell Park Golf Club in Wiltshire? The club held event 6 on the Europro tour this year. Great little track I think about 6500 yards ish. 4 different nines. An amazing short game area where you could do a short game video?

Clubs are clubs for me. I went and looked at getting some new ones and (without getting measured mind you) I was hitting about 4 different brands pretty much the same down the range and all the same as my current ones. Maybe I'm not good enough to notice the difference. But slots aren't gonna sell clubs to me. But they do sound nice....mmmmm I'm sold!

Could you make a review of the callaway big beatha irons

Seems like this slots really work. But if these modern irons gets so forgiving, how do I get my rewards when I hit that 25 perents of "good" shots? I play golf because it's a difficult and challenging game with always thing to improve on..

The lofts are not 'more' traditional in these irons. Infact the 6 iron is only 0.5 degree weaker than the rsi1!

everyone knows that heel shots are the real distance robbers. But you, as a better player should, tends to miss towards the toe. Wouldve loved to see how a heely shot measured up.
@1967davidfitness9 жыл бұрын
Tyler Shumaker You have written a load of utter bullshit. Any stroke that is just off the sweetspot robs you of optimal distance. In fact the sweetspot is more towards the heel then the toe. You make me laugh.
@tylershumaker42429 жыл бұрын
Shots missed towards the heel produce, in general, less distance that shots missed towards the toe. This is basic physics. On a driver or any metalwood, the true sweetspot is slightly higher on the face and slightly towards the toe for max distance. Idk why you're hunting down all my comments trying to start new arguments? I just thought these irons were slick and wanted to see how a heel shot performed? I guess you have a problem with that good sir?
@1967davidfitness9 жыл бұрын
Tyler Shumaker You should not be making ill-advised comments as you clearly lack facts.. Any sweetspot on golf clubs is more towards the heel, then the toe. But the sweetspot is of course fairly central on the clubface.But the sweetspot is still slightly towards the heel than the toe. What is your level of golf?

You are not a robot but that strike pattern and dispersion for three balls is probably much better than the average player. Why not try and hit a few way off center, high -low-toe-heal, something more realistic for a test of the forgiveness this innovation is supposed to provide. Thanks, I appreciate seeing the results in any case.

Im curious about the ProV1X golf balls you hit here.. Are they just range balls or yellow Xs?
@electronicsfan2110 жыл бұрын
The yellow balls are just range balls. He isn't using them for testing. He uses regular pro v1x's for the numbers

Yeah $1,000 I don't think so. Wilson D100 irons make the claim use two clubs less then your partner, well I bought my son a set and the PW in the Wilson is the same length as my JPX Muzuno 800 plus the lofts are jacked up of course but the flight is so high they did not go any further than my JPX. Most if not all of this hype about clubs these days are bull. Now wait and see, in a few months or so Taylormade will come out with another iron and say it is more forgiving and longer than these, it never fails. If all the hype is true then we should be having trouble keeping the ball on the planet by now. And the sticker on these is outrageous at least in my opinion.
@tylershumaker424210 жыл бұрын
yeah a grand is a bit steep, totally agree with you there. But i will say im not gonna argue with the tech. The guys at Taylormade and all of these companies in the R and D department are way smarter than both of us combined probably. What you're talking about with the wilsons may be true for you and your son, but you can only do a true side by side comparison with a swing robot. All im saying is that there is a reason that the Taylormade guys on tour are switching irons every six months or so, and that is because they keep topping the previous model. Go hit these on a trackman and compare the numbers to your mizzies. cant hurt right?

These clubs added 10-15 yards to each of my irons when I hit down on them like I was doing with my DCI 990s. 180 yard 8 irons are too much and come in hot. I had to switch to ProV1 balls just to keep them on the green. I'm thinking about changing from the KBS stiff shafts that came with them back to Dynamic Gold stiff shafts so I can work the ball better. Has anyone tried the new TaylorMade PSi irons?
@andym2810 жыл бұрын
Apparantly 75% of shots are hit outside the sweet spot.
