I used to make wedding cakes 20 years ago. Techniques have really changed and I'm excited to try your method. Its a much easier flower than a piped rose. Thank you for sharing.

Great tips about piping slowly and holding the tip in the air, not touching the petals already piped. Thank you!

Oh, thank you baby Jesus! 😅 I have been searching high and low to find out how to do a similar stripe for icing ever since I first saw it on the British Bake Off show on BBC. I assumed it had something to do with putting different amounts of color in the piping bag but was hoping to get some professional guidance. And here it is. 🌺🏅

Love this tip! I keep extra unfrosted cupcakes in the freezer till ready to use, just never thought about using the freezer technique for frosting the cakes! Genius; just decorated some cupcakes w my granddaughter, and the weather was so warm, this trick will be appreciated! Also, will remember to do the bottom, thin layer of frosting as well. Thank you!

Question: Before you freeze the cupcake... you put a film of frosting on it... or just freeze the cupcake and then later put the film of frosting on top of the cupcake... so if I make a mistake, I can "SHAKE" the Rose off back into the bowl.

Can you make the buttercream ahead and freeze it as well? I need to take these on the road to our destinations and would love to be able to frost them the day of the party - we're arriving a week ahead of time. Love that I can freeze the cupcakes, about how long does it take them to thaw? I'm planning to do mini cupcakes. This is my first foray into decorating and baking for someone else's party. Thank you!
