May consider installing a tank underneath for race fuel. I just did similar for getting diesel out to a remote area. Needed to transport 25gal a day and instead of lugging around 5 5gal jugs, I got a 25gal chemical spraying tank off amazon. It was much more compact than 5 jugs and installed an old fuel pump in it so you just flick a switch and your pumping fuel, no holding up a 50lb jug.

@MrMCKinc23 сағат бұрын
@Nervous29 Why would it defeat the purpose of buying the bus? He even mentioned himself with having both the bus and the new trailer, that it gives him the ability to travel across the country and hit up different style tracks with both cars as some tracks work best with a small tire car and some are faster and require the vette. The bus actually gives him the opportunity to do so in the future without having to take multiple tow rigs and multiple trailers across the country. Doesn’t seem to me like it defeats the purpose at all.

Taylor you may want to check out getting some solar panels, lithium batteries (or even a Prisus battery pack) inverters as well as one or two mini-split heat pump systems for your bus and or race car trailer. Their is a channel called Bus Grease Monkey 4 or 5 years back he upgraded his solar panels and batteries on his bus as well as a channel called Beginning Each Morning that about 6 years did a major solar installation that included using Prisus battery pack. I am sure there are many other on KZbin that cover installation of solar panels and equipment on buses etc. that said if you decide to pull the trigger on such a project I would recommend a 48V system over a 24V and skip anything below that. Lastly do you know who converted your bus to haul a race car? The reason I ask is the basic body structure of a motor coach/bus are not nearly strong or rigid as most people think. I mention this because while I definitely think lighting the rear doors would probably be a good idea I am not sure about you idea of a lift up style door because I have questions about the strength of the body structure and its ability to support a lift/swing up door because that style of door puts all its stress at a couple of hinge points but extends the weight away from the rear of the bus.

If you install enough of those lithium batteries, it might behoove you to consider adding a mild hybrid setup - regenerative braking is basically like recovering the fuel you burned getting up to speed, and then of course using those same motors to help you accelerate means you can basically "re-burn" that fuel. Axial motors in the hubs should accomplish the task quite well; you could even use them on the spare rear axle (:: iirc, only one of them is powered?) to make it all easier
