This video really brought back memories of my trip to Franklin. I was with a group doing a week of day hikes in the area. The Thursday was cold and rainy so I drove into Franklin instead of hiking. I got a great pair of hiking shoes at Outdoor 76 and went to the yarn store, Silver Needles and Golden Threads, just a few stores down Main St. The yarn store owners invited me to have lunch with them which was lovely. We sat knitting together and then I drove back to rejoin the group. Glad you are having such a great time.

Been Watching since last year and I Have to say, best trail video this year. Best thing, most others miss is we like to watch many channels. So if someone posts more than 10 minutes, I don't have time to watch them. So I fast forward and miss everything they are saying, and I know I am not alone. Some people think it is so important top post every minute they lose the fact is sucks and becomes boring. Your videos are interesting in a over saturated market. Great job and thank you.

Thanks for showing some of the town of Franklin. I don't think anyone has shown it before. I like to see the small towns along the way and the hostels. Regarding the Cheez-Its. One of my favorite snack foods (I don't eat a lot of junk food) but I did check the calories last time I bought some . Lots and lots. Perfect for hiking when you need a lot calories. I could eat that whole box in one day of hiking. They are lightweight, too. Good choice.

Never give up unless absolutely necessary. Keep going and going. Even on those days where you are thinking it's all ridiculous. It's too far. If im this discouraged early on ill never make it. All those thoughts are normal, but you can and will do this. You will climb Mt. Katadin and you will lay your hands on that sign. Then, you will start planning your PCT thru hike and many more. Your journey has just begun. Once you reach that sign, it's like finding gold. You have the fever and can't quit.

@@geraldhenrickson7472 every person that sets foot on that trail has the same struggles and same days where they try to talk themselves into stopping. Don't get me wrong, there are legitimate reasons to stop a thru hike. However, not every reason is a good reason. On those days that your brain is trying to tell you to stop, that's when you switch your brain to " this is a job and it is absolutely necessary that I continue on".

@@KB-re4ku [edit] Maybe I should have used "corrects" above. [/edit] Some pediatric doctors tell new parents not to worry if their child is not getting a daily balanced diet, but to average it over a month or weeks. The human body will tell you what to eat and when with cravings (hiker hunger). You know, she is young and probably could eat just skittles on trail and still survive. I know a woman who could only afford rice through three years of university (no grants or loans) but took advantage of any dinner invite. The human body, at times, is amazing.
