My understanding on MRI noise (I work on a study that uses MRIs!) is that it’s just the nature of how the magnetic current is produced. The electricity is conducted through coils to create a magnetic field to get the image, and when the electricity pulses is causes the coils to vibrate, which is the noise you hear. I don’t know that it would be possible to be quieter, that would be great if they could!!

I'm an MRI tech but by no means have like the knowledge of an MR physicist but I can tell you that the noise is inherent to most sequences that utilize gradients (so when the magnetic field is applied we change the gradients on specific sequences). Only a few sequences don't use gradients and those can be made silent for the most part. There's software that uses this it's just not widely available, plus the downside is that sequences are still lengthy and if there's no noise patients don't know to hold still and also that not every sequence would be silent so it would only be half silent... Kinda pointless. But yeah it's not a technology thing, it's just a physics thing: can't be made silent.

That is a very difficult plant to take care of. I definitely wouldn’t have pointed to you to anything in that family as a beginner. It definitely does not need more light. The best thing you can do is get the watering correct. Try purchasing a moisture meter to assist u.

That looks like a calathea, they need humidity. Spray it down good with a spray bottle and then put it in a big plastic bag and seal it until it bounces back (like a plant ICU), they love it! They like moist soil, not too wet or dry, and they like indirect sunlight so don’t put them right next to your brightest window, place it a bit away. It is a rainforest plant so think re-creating a rainforest environment. Humidity is the main thing that sets calatheas apart from other house plants in terms of needs. Once it perks up in plant ICU, you can put it on a pebble tray or run a humidifier near it and spray it with a mist bottle.

The plant- needs a pot with good drainage. I believe that plant is in the Calathea family, so they need high humidity and indirect sunlight with moist but not wet soil. Hopefully that helps! ☺️🖤

It is a calathea! Check into care for rattlesnake calathea 💓 their leaves fold down during the day, not to be confused with drooping leaves due to being unhealthy! they naturally do that!

Try setting the plant on top of a tray with pebbles and a little bit of water! The water doesn’t need to touch the plant’s pot (pebbles keep it from butt chugging) and this helps keep it humid around the plant!

Lovely vlog! 🧡 I’ve been a sub for quite a long time but I rarely comment… I saw your plant and couldn’t help myself ha ha… Your Ctenanthe Burle Marxii (prayer plant family) appreciates a warm and humid environment, they can be pretty fussy and don’t tend to like drafts/cold… do you have air con? They will fold/curl their leaves in the daytime to try and protect themselves if this is the case. Folding leaves at night is normal. They can also fold/curl leaves in in direct sun. They like med-bright indirect light 🌿 Also it needs to be in a well draining pot with drainage holes… I can’t tell from the video if there’s a plastic nursery pot inside the decorative pot but if not I’d recommend that too. Also they are sensitive to tap water so would recommend using filtered or rain water. Fussy buggers 😆🌿 Hope that helps! I create content on houseplants, home decor and exotic gardening that you may enjoy 😁🌿💚🦋🌴

For the prayer plant, it might need more humidity. You could try getting it a little humidifier or buying a humidity tray which is what I use for other plants in the same family. If you get a humidity just make sure that you have something under the base of the plant separating it from the water in the tray because otherwise it will absorb that water rather than it evaporating and the soil will get too wet.

Just FYI to anybody trying to have matcha drinks without sweetness, matcha powder at Starbucks is already blended with sugar, so you can't completely remove sweetness from any matcha drinks. They add syrup too so if you omit syrup, it gets less sweeten though.

I've had so many MRI scans, like at least 15 over my whole life as I've had so many musculoskeletal injuries due to hypermobility. Every year I'll be in crutches for something or another, and this year it's achilles tendinopathy in both my feet which is very painful. They are very noisy and take ages

I do landscaping/gardening professionally.l and although its kind of hard to tell without seeing your plant in person, I'd start with giving it a bigger pot with good drainage. When you transplant it break up the root ball at the bottom a little and add him to some new soil. Houseplants don't like a lot of water.. is the soil really wet all the time? Miracle grow would be good for it too.

I apologize in advance (I know : / I’m sorry but I really think it could help) but I was just diagnosed with ehlers danlos hypermobility and I noticed your thumbs 👍are hyperextended. it might be a good idea to check it out. You can check yourself pre-doctor by seeing if you can wrap your fingers around your wrists, touch your thumbs to wrists, touch your toes. Symptoms can include fatigue, migraines etc. p.s. I just started getting the Ajovy injections and they’ve helped my cervicogenic migraines so much, I don’t understand why it works but it does!! You’ve been an inspiration for many reasons but your ability to continue your passion is the biggest reason. Thank you for such amazing makeup and lifestyle tips! I get the MRI thing. Because of my family history of breast cancer it’s recommended I get an MRI (with contrast) every six months. The first one was so miserable- lying on my stomach on a hard surface where it’s difficult to breathe for 45 minutes with my arms out in front going numb, and an IV. They said I shouldn’t take deep breaths the entire time because it could mess up results. Probably because of me struggling to take breathes, my results showed a mass on my liver, so I had to then have a CT scan with contrast to make sure it was actually nothing. I’ve been putting off getting my next MRI, to say the least. Oh, also- ASOS is actually pronounced Ace-soss (rhymes with floss). I went so far as to watch KZbin videos of their employees talking about working there to find that out for sure. 😂

Your plant looks overwatered! The soil looks very dark (wet) and it’s drooping. Let it really dry out before watering again. Make sure it has good drainage holes. Take the inner pot with the drainage holes OUT of the other pot to water it or else you can’t see if it’s drowning in water. I water my plants in a plastic saucer you can get at the garden store. Water until the water just runs through the drainage holes. Then let it sit in the water for like 15min to absorb some excess water. Then remove it and place it back in its decorative pot. Also feel the soil with a finger before you water. If the top inch still feels somewhat moist, don’t water yet. Calatheas in general are very difficult houseplants though even for a plant lady like me so don’t feel too bad! I suggest pothos & monstera as less difficult plants. 🪴 you can also water from the bottom by putting the water in the saucer. The plant will drink up just as much water as it needs and then you can remove it when the soil is moist. Also next time you water (after letting it dry out!) you can water with 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 3 parts water - this helps bring oxygen to the roots that may have started to rot due to overwatering.

Your prayer plant turns its leaves down in the sun. They need medium bright diffused light & humidity. So a bathroom with a skylight is ideal. They put their leaves up at night. If you want you can add a humidity tray if the leaves get brown edges.

Hey! Radiologist technologist here, in fact mri cannot be more quieter! For now, and juste so you jnow it's fairly new in terms of health technology (mri been around in hospital just since 1980-ish, a bit less then 40 years) just the fact that an head irm took 20mins its miraculous ❤️

One time I needed an MRI and still had my nose piercing. I had it in for like 10 years and never took it out. Had to have two nurses jam several implements up my nose and take it out for me, lol!! Never bothered to put it back in and now the piercing is definitely closed up! Anyway, love the vlogs! Hope you're doing well!

The plant (prayer plant/maranta) probably just needs a bit more light. Loves a good west facing window. Let the soil dry out in between but don’t let it stay dry for too long. Better to slightly underwater than over water.

What editing tool do you use? Your videos are always cool. Hope you’re feeling better. I know what you mean about the MRI’s noise. The noise and constraint of the machine kills me. I always take a Valium. I think though that Overlake Hospital in Bellevue has newer machines.

I save my patients’ piercing holes from closing up by putting the plastic sheath of an IV catheter through the each of the holes. Alternatively you can also thread silk thread through the sheaths, then remove the sheath and tie the silk into a loop in each hole. These are medical supplies you could order in advance for future MRIs. A 20 gauge size IV would be enough.
