I don't blame anyone who says they had a bad time in Germany because of the people. This is something people need to know before they come here that people in Germany are more distant and colder than most other places. I have traveled all of Europe and there are very few places where people are even ruder than in my home country. I can only think of two right now, Sofia in Bulgaria and Venice in Italy. Everywhere else in Italy people are super nice, just not in Venice. I've been to Portugal several times and loved every minute! I definitely want to retire there or possible southern Spain. I'm wishing you all the best for the new year and for your new life here in Europe! And if you ever decide to come back to Germany and give it another try, consider some smaller less known towns, you might be surprised! I'll at least give it to him that it was the world. I come from a small Georgia town, with a family that don't even want to leave the borders of that town. Atlanta, Georgia is only an hour away by one highway.. And most of them are very adamant about not stepping foot in Atlanta because it's "the big city." I got married in Atlanta, and let's just say I was pretty disappointed by my RSVPs. They are pretty content to be in that town all day every day. Point I was making, sometimes ones comfort will keep them within certain borders. Bravo Tayo for being brave enough to go beyond those borders.

No hate here, just love, and if you need any tip on where to go, just send me a private message anywhere, there are many many places you can go and many many things I'll proudly show you too , for example Porto, Aveiro, Coimbra, Evora, etc etc... if you google them you'll see how different they are from each other. This is why i love living close to nature, it makes you take everything slowly. Nature doesn't expect anything from us so the pressure to be something erases and the anxiety disappears, but as a Lagosian, I have to use my imagination for that. There's something about living life in slow mo that just makes you understand that time isn't running out we are the ones just panicking over a concept that doesn't even exist. People are always in a hurry because they think time is running out. Nothing beats living time in slow-mo it makes you capture more of life's awes and live in the awareness of that awe. I had the chance to be in Lisbon with my sister in 2018 and 2019 and I instantly got what you meant in the video about how everyone takes it easy. I wish you the best in your future endeavors and I'll be here to watch them when you share. ✌🏿

By far, this is one of the most impactful videos for me I've seen throughout your production, and I must admit u touch my soul really deep, not just by the sceneries but this amazing storyline. I hope you find peace and appreciate every moment 🙏. We all have stories, and they connect immediately when you hear a familiar one. Thanks 😊 bro for touching me.

Dude that's my country. I lived there. I just returned to Nigeria a few years back. A lot of the locations on the video brought me pleasant memories. I love Portugal.

Hey Tayo, I hope you get to read this comment. Please don’t mind that it is long. To start with, I’m very impressed with your content. You are among very few vloggers who have made me prouder of Africa and to be African (Nigerian). From my impression, you’ve done very well for yourself given that you’re only 4 years in the vlogging business as you’ve stated. And I’m even more impressed by your storytelling and especially your video editing skills, which I haven’t even seen any African vlogger close enough. Having said that, I bet to defer from the 650+ comments below. I as your follower don’t think it is a good idea for your relocation to Europe. Please forgive me if I’m too direct, and this might also make me sound like a hypocrite since I’ve been living in Europe for the last 2 decades, and I also don’t know how financially vibrant African vlogging is. But from the outside, I’ve got the impression that you are doing well financially. Back to content, there are more than enough Europeans telling their continent’s stories and civilization, but very few of you are telling the African story, and I’m glad and pleased with your effort. This can make me sound selfish, but I would rather prefer an African telling the African story. As you’ve mentioned, the majority of your audience is Africans, which means you are doing a great job and people are hungry to know more about Africa. From a business side, I don’t think a European sponsor will consider an African to be expert enough to tell the European story. But that is your competitive advantage in showing Africa to the world. I saw one of the videos that you did for DW, and I was particularly happy for you. I think this should be the way forward. Instead of looking for greener pasture, you should wet the grass where you are. I think you should look for more collaborations with international TV stations like History Channel, Discovery TV, Travel Channel, etc. in showcasing the African stories and the continent. Don’t get me wrong, as I don’t think there’s anything wrong with you having your vacation in Europe and taking advantage of that by doing some vlogs in the process. But I do think/feel that you are better-off being an African continent specialist.

Hi, Please forgive my opinion. I am a Nigerian born in London, and I am so glad Tayo visited Portugal. We see so many European youtubers in Portugal and it was so nice to see it from a completely different perspective. I hope one day to retire to Portugal I have bought property there. It has opened my eyes to the possibilities, too many Nigerians want to go to the US the UK Canada, but Portugal offers peace calm and opportunities. Some young Nigerians who want a different life should be able to see and share a different perspective. I hope you don't mind me commenting ..

You're so right... that's why i like Wode Maya as he so far has stayed true to Africa. I won't repeat your points, but if he really felt like a change then the Caribbean would have been a good place due to the strong black connections to Africa. Now isn't the time for Tayo to sell out to Europe. Anyways na him life, but he was totally on the right track with Africa. I certainly won't be watching any European videos and may eventually unsubscribe. I was born and brought up in Europe, but I'm trying to get back to Africa, Nigeria to be precise.... anyways mek I go watch Wode Maya channel jor...

When I used to live in the UK I identified myself as A Pan African Afropean. Europe has a long and sometimes dark relationship with Africa and there is need for Africans to explore and speak more on this issue. As such I often took Afropean holidays spending my money visiting numerous African restaurants, bars and nightclubs across Europe with Lisbon being my number 1 city. A lot of these cities also are beginning to have museums and exhibitions beging to tell the story of European slave trade and colonisation of African collaborating with African communities in Europe. A book to introduce oneself to the concept of Afropean is "Afropean" by Johnny Pitts it's a good read.

I'm Portuguese and following your travel journey since a long time. I don't know how I missed that video but I feel kind of proud and also really surprised that you've chosen my homeland as a refuge. I hope you're still, today, enjoying the way of life of my country. Come to the amazing beaches around Nazaré ( for exemple Vale furado) and spend some night out in Leiria. ;)

Amazing video Tayo. I love this video because of some of its historical elements of it. It's great you mentioned Lagos which a lot of people must have learned about Nigeria Lagos connection with Portugal. Lagos means "lakes" in Portuguese. I love the narration. There are a lot of things I want to mention but time will not permit me. I must not forget to say I love how you ended it. "life can be very some time and also be very slow another time". What this statement thought me is that, CHERISH EVERY MOMENT OF LIFE WHETHER GOOD OR BAD MOMENTS. Thanks Tayo for another great video.

I was in Lagos Portugal this Summer and absolutely loved it. It's so beautiful but sadly so touristy...too much crowds especially in the summer. I love that Lagos has become this melting pot of people from all over the world. Portuguese are so welcoming. You need to visit Lagos.

Go to the Algarve in the low seasons. Far less touristy and more relaxed. Or go to the north. Like Coimbra, Porto, Aveiro. Also less touristy in low season. Lisbon is always touristy, but that’s the capital.

Tayo so many blk American women are moving to Portugal 🇵🇹 bc of the slower life and the safety. I really hope you share more bc your content is unlike anyone else! I think everyone is feeling the need to stop and breathe and figure out what is our purpose? What do we want to do? And if you don’t know learn to enjoy where you are and stop focusing on social media and the next big thing!

Thank you for making this video Tayo. I too am now at a crossroads in my life about what is next for me, and basically having the same feeling of wanting to slow down and focus more on enjoying my life, being stable, and sharing things that I love with the world. While I am trying to decide if Dubai is the place to do that for me, I appreciate coming across your video and seeing you've made the leap. It gives me courage to continue on my journey, knowing the same feeling is coming for me too 💛 Cheers

Tayo, I’m so very happy for you. I recently had a chat with my sister about your work and how something felt different about it. For me, I couldn’t feel the same energy that kept me in your earlier videos. So, I’ve been secretly hoping that you were in a growth stage of your life and would see that it’s okay to explore other video (and creative) ideas and interests. Thanks for being vulnerable about your current state of self here. I’m glad you’re leaning into what your heart is saying.

Well done, Tayo. Enjoy Europe... It's always nice seeing a different perspective of life from the one we grew up on. Yes, bad things has happened in the past and still happen now but there's nice people in the world and things to learn. Just don't make Africa your burial placenif you know what I mean. Love from South Africa and Ethiopia. ❤️🇪🇹🇿🇦
