Spurs had amazing ball movement (and most teams tried to emulate them like teams try to be GSW now); the Lakers had their triangle offense, which used isolation to create motion if anything. GSW offense is really an evolution of the triangle for the modern 3pt era. Remember Steve Kerr played as a 3 pt shooter in a triangle offense. So long that I noticed the slowing of the game in the 90’s and it really changing in the 2000’s. Warriors offense is not triangle based at all Triangle creates the triangle via the center Warriors don’t have a center. At least not a pro typical one and todays game in general outside maybe embid even have centers anymore and that’s all thanks to the warriors recreating the game If you HAD to compare it would be more closely related to the spurs offense but related in the way a hyena is related to a dog Triangle is a terrible offense that only works with juggernaut players like shaq or Michael It absolutely slows the game down and take the art and beauty out of it similar to using the same move in a video game over and over Todays game is about analytics and efficiency The triangle is one of the least efficient offenses in basketball as it dumps the ball into the post and mid range/elbow play generated by weak side action The post is one of the least efficient plays in basketball especially in the triangle where it’s not a mere put back but actual generate post scoring Even popavich has stated how he hates the three point based offense which is what warriors do Warriors play more akin to “purist” basketball ala the 1940’s-60’s aka lots and lots of off all movement and passing Something the 90’s and 2000’s destroyed and made basketball a one man superstar league of selfish players Warriors basketball is both revolutionary and pure It is flat out gorgeous and exciting basketball And the reason ignorant basketball fans don’t understand stephs all time status simply because he hasn’t hD a finals mvp Because he plays unselfish and gets the offense going through him not by him Todays basketball even with grizzlies and Dallas despite luka being a heavy iso player are far more exciting that watching Kobe and shaq or the pistons or Tracy McGrady or even the spurs despite the spurs having offball movement and passing Nostalgia bias is a real thing The nba is bigger now than it’s ever been by far That didn’t happen on accident The current finals are way more exciting despite the superficial blowouts the series is neck and neck Blowouts are just the nature of a high shooting game today As opposed to watching boring slow games of the 2000’s that were a snooze fest To each their own I’m not knocking your preference or opinion but todays game is bigger in popularity not on accident is all I’m saying Also If you love defense then you should love this current series Just cause they are good at offense doesn’t mean they don’t play defense Both teams play all time defense, literally

@st4r4442 жыл бұрын
They were tough and physical but the team chemistry was a$$. No ball movement and no play making or rhythm on offense just iladvised shots and bog hog. The kings were the only team that ran basic set plays like pick n roll, off ball moment, high screen pass

Just amazing. What a block! What a block. The block just left the narratpr speechless. He couldnt believe what he saw. What a block... It sounds to me like a whisper un the ear. Breathless. Just amazing play of basketball. These kind of clutch plays made me believe that basketball was amazing as a kid when I saw it in a TV Broadcast news about the NBA. The narrator felt similar to me. It was so clutch and so goosebump feeling to watch and imagine...

No not really it was only in the playoffs Lebron did it in the finals where it mattered the most and the block was unexpected asf.

This is actually just as good, And in my opinion better than lebron's "The block" agaisnt andre. This was much better, especially it being agaisnt Reggie Miller. This was literally his last title shot

Huge. Indy up 1-0 and an easy bucket who knows. This def. play by Prince changed the whole series.

Love this hardnosed style of play. Wide open ball is definitely fun too, but I do miss this style at times - nothing easy, hard working, hustling teamwork with unmatched defensive intensity, guys bringing their lunch buckets and digging deep. Today's game I'll say it again is definitely fun, but sometimes... sometimes it feels just a little bit like watching kids eating candy (which is also fun) compared to this.

It’s one of the greatest blocks but not the greatest the greatest belongs to LeBron James considering how clutch it was and the pressure being down 3-1 in a series against the Warriors.

Prince footwork to position himself not to commit a foul or make body contact is what's up.

Miller made that block possible. He slowed down and gave Prince the time to catch up. Still the effort Prince gave was amazing. I did the same thing playing basketball. I ran full speed about half court, the other guy got the ball about the free throw line. He was moving to slow not expecting me and I caught it on the glass. The whole gym went crazy. I was pumped, brought the ball up and shot a 3 and made it. Those were the days.

This is why you dunk vs lay it up... What an amazing block, looks like goaltending, then in slow motion it's... perfect.
