It's so refreshng to see a DIY video using simple tools. I get so sick of watching 'how-to' videos that seem to require thousands of dollars worth of power tools.

That's pretty slick. The only reason you got dislikes is because the ones watching weren't that slick. They were just looking for a how-to and someone to do all the hard work for them. God forbid they think for themselves. Once again good job buddy

The door mechanism will shut like a guillotine and your favorite and sweetest hen will get crushed. All doors should close while suspended by light chain or rope so no positive downward pressure is exerted.

This control board is only suitable for southern countries: in summer and winter you have 12 hours of day and 12 hours of night. But here in the north, in summer the night is 3-4 hours, and in winter the day is 3-4 hours. and on the board the maximum time interval that can be set is 999 minutes, that is, 16 hours and 39 minutes. that is, this timer is not suitable for mid- and nord-latitudes. It is much more reliable to use a light sensor board, which will react to light and close the door at dusk and open at dawn.

I like it but you should at least make the arm out of 1/4" Aluminum. Also I am not a fan of openers that use time as a limit instead of actual limit switches. Other than that I like this.

This doesn't need a limit switch though? B/c it's rotating. I guess if you're worried about it desyncing, you could use a stepper motor.
@AztecWarrior69_69 Жыл бұрын
@@minichickierobots2822 It is not an actuator, it is a regular motor with a gearbox meant for toys. And not it does not have internal limits. That is why they are using a time limiting motor controller.
@AztecWarrior69_69 Жыл бұрын
@@cmonay5403 Limit switches are definitely needed. It will not take long for it to get out of time. Limit switches would keep that from happening. Stepper motor? Why? all you are doing is adding more cost and having to use a micro controller. And you still need a limit switch. You have to. Even Steppers lose their place from time to time. So a limit switch is used to reset its place as a zero point.
