Great Video: I have some questions 1) TIRE SIZE. My tires are just slightly bigger than stock but at 80mph my actual speed is 81.7mph. I'd like to get that adjusted but i read that i have to measure the tire by hand ??? isn't there a setting where i can enter new tire size ??? Is measuring by hand even accurate, i mean will it correctly recalibrate my speed to actual speed? 2) LIGHT SHOW is in both "vehicle settings" and in "Live Functions." I want to reprogram my wheels and remove this device. Will the light show stay? Will the work after removing the Tazer? 3) 2 PLUGS that are unplugged from vehicle port and plugged to Tazer, isn't that going to cause issues with the truck? I mean nothing is plugged there anymore. Is that ok?

Tire size adjustment I briefly gloss over at 13:42. If your actual speed is reading high, just go in there and increase the tire diameter by like .1 at a time until it's close enough for you. The light show, I'm not sure. I always thought it had to be plugged in to work, but never had a ready to remove the tazer, so never tried it while removed. And no, the 2 plugs being unplugged from the central gateway controller won't harm anything. That modules sole purpose is to keep us out lol.

Anyone who is having trouble with DRL feature. Theres a separate set of settings called the live settings when the truck is turned on. There you can set the drl to amber and to stay on with the regular headlights as well! Also make sure you go into your uconnect settings into the lighting section and set your DRL lights to on.

Cycle through those and youll see a drl amber selection. Turn it on both and it should then swap it to amber. This is on a TRX im referring to.

@@tashaunbrown5878 You’re not getting confused with a pedal commander? Chargers and Challengers have track mode which changes the throttle input from the factory. The Ram doesn’t have that. I’ve never seen a Tazer change anything with throttle input.

How will this affect under warranty? If you remove it prior to service can the dealer know you were “in” the computer? Do you lose the changes when it’s disconnected?

There are what's called "live functions" and then normal functions. All of the live functions require the Tazer to be plugged in to use them. I believe it lists in the directions o on their website which functions are live or not. There's always the possibility of the tech being able to see if you were in there if they care or try hard enough, but I have not personally heard of any issues. I would recommend documenting all of your stock settings before making any changes, then switch back to those factory settings and unplug the Tazer before bringing the truck to the dealer if you actually have an issue. It's a pain, but the odd's of you needing to do all that are pretty low. Say if you have a wheel bearing go bad, they aren't going to care about the Tazer, it's just electronic stuff you'd need to worry about. I just unplugged mine before each dealer visit to be safe, but none of my visits were for anything electrical.

Fantastic video. Because the instructions suck. So I was hoping someone could actually show me where the SGW plug thing was. That was my main reason for watching the video. The one feature I bought this for - however - you didn't even discuss! I can't stand the constant weather alerts that pop up on my computer/radio screen. I understand this unit is about the only thing that can turn those off. That's the whole reason I purchased this. But I love the light show tho. Can't wait to try that out! This a great video.... Quick question, if I change my tire pressure warning psi down to 32 instead of the factory 60 psi. If I unplug the Tazer will it default back to factory settings? Just trying to see if I have to keep it plugged in or could I make that change and unplug the Tazer

Some functions remain even if the Tazer is unplugged but some don’t. I can’t remember exactly which ones but I believe they list them on their website. It’s really not a big deal to leave it plugged in though since it doesn’t plug into your OBD 2 port so it’s not really in the way of anything.

If you turn dark mode on it will turn all lights off. You can also change the position of the DRL, but I don’t think there’s a way to turn off DRL and still have everything else work. It’s been a while though so I can’t remember tbh.

11:04 I start going into some of the functions and around the 13:xx mark I mention the tire size. It’s under the performance section and you can adjust the tire height. Might take you a few tries to get it perfect.

Certain functions require the Tazer to be plugged in, otherwise they don’t work. I believe they lost which functions require it to be plugged in on their website but it’s really not a big deal to leave it always plugged in since it doesn’t use the OBD 2 port.

It really depends on the individual. I’ve spent $300 on more stupid things, so it was worth it to me lol. Primarily for the Speedo calibration and traction control disable. Everything else was a bonus, but you just have to weigh what functions you’ll actually be using. The light show and remote key fob window roll up/down are cool but I didn’t use them much.

@@TonyTheTruckGuy Yeah, I did. I guess it's changed a little since your video. My instructions say to use left arrow + cruise control button to "OK" actions instead of the resume button. So cruise control doesn't have to be on to access the menu initially either. If you get their latest instructions PDF you should be able to see what I'm talking about.

I have the rear cam feature on for turn signals and it's amazing for all blind spots and avoiding curbs when turning out of narrow roads with the 360 surround camera on the truck. I also like that it keeps Auto Start/Stop off. Only thing it's missing is MDS deactivation.

Thinking about getting this, but I have a couple questions: I got bigger tires, recently. Updating the tire size give a more accurate MPG reading right? Why does it give an option to change the 3rd brake light to LED? I swapped mine out for LED a while ago with no issues.

Not sure on the 3rd brake light option. I'm thinking it needs to be on if you get the OEM LED 3rd brake light maybe. I haven't hand calculated my MPG in a while, and the ecometers are always off a bit anyways, but my speedo does match GPS speed now with bigger tires, so I would imagine that the MPG is more accurate.

If you get a cheap bulb that isn't compatible with the canbus system it'll register as a bulb out, most of them now are compatible.

Does your tazer have the auto traction kill setting ? Which turns off stability control and traction control I believe.

It’s not automatic when you start the truck, but holding down the traction button for about 7 seconds disabled all that stuff, and allows me to drift in snow, etc.

Dennis - I have a light show video that will be uploaded on Saturday showing all of the preset light shows. It’s in a parking ramp not in the pitch black but my cameras probably wouldn’t capture it right due to low light and the lights on the truck are so bright it just kind of messes with the video with random light reflections, etc. Hopefully this video will give you what you’re looking for.

The Ultimate Fail to me is you have to have the Truck Unlocked to have the Strobes on. If you lock the truck it turns off. I don’t want to leave my truck unlocked.

Yes the Tazer stays plugged in. You take the connectors off of factory sgw module like I showed and plug into Tazer. Factory sgw stays where it is. Sgw is just like a factory body module.

It’s very odd, I have 285/55/22 2020 limited. I do, I just got it and updated to the latest firmware this weekend before I did it. Everything else works fine except the main thing I got it for of course lol

Man I did all that already unfortunately, even reset the battery did many full reboot and power cycles, only work if I set them under 33,4 anything over that and they go out. I emailed Them already but haven’t heard back from them yet

Lmao funny you mention that because I actually only played for a few days after years of my friends bothering me to try it. Been playing RuneScape since like 2006 and they kinda switched over to just WoW after a few years. I honestly can’t remember what my guy even is. I THINK Horde and a warrior. Technically it could void your warranty on the electrical side, but you can just unplug it and take it out of the truck if you need to bring your truck to the dealer and they would never know.

So unless I’m missing something what exactly do you really need this for? $350 to have a light show or change splash screen? The biggest thing on these trucks that 99% of people want to shut off is the MDS cylinder deactivation crap or add some performance.. this does neither of those lol. Why not just get the Pulsar ecu. It’s only $550 and does everything this does besides the light show and it adds performance and can do everything.

My primary reasons for getting it was so I could recalibrate my speedometer for my bigger tires, and being able to completely turn traction and stability control off without a $500+ tuner (or Pulsar), or risk any possibility of warranty being denied if something happened to the engine with the Pulsar hooked up (nobody has been able to give me a straight answer on if the Pulsar leaves an ECM footprint or not). A lot of people don’t seem too impressed with the pulsar performance, either, as a custom tune would almost certainly yield you better gains. I did look into the Pulsar for a while though. The light shows and other tricks are just bonuses on the Tazer. I think most people said they maybe gained roughly an estimated 20 hp or so with the Pulsar, which honestly you won’t feel in the seat of your pants, and those claimed power gains are typically on the 91 octane or higher. I always ran 89 octane or 87 if money was tight since 91 is a good $1 or more per gallon, and not required in the 5.7. My CAI and cat back exhaust probably netted me about the same power gains.

Don’t use gear ratio function unless you’ve actually changed the gears in your truck. All that function does is help correct the speedo for your current gear ratio.

Hey, you can do the window up and down function without the ignition on. I do it all the time when the truck is sitting in the driveway all day. One feature that should have been factory enabled. Thanks for the video.

Not positive to be honest. I’d email Tazer directly and ask them. Don’t want to tell you yes and then find out you can’t lol. My truck already had the trailer brake controller so I didn’t have to mess with that. I would GUESS that if the Tazer has the option for trailer brake controller then it should work, but again, I’m not 💯

If you remote start the truck then do the window rolldown key fob thing does that work?

Guess I can’t think of a use for that so I haven’t tried it lol. You’d need to be within pretty close range as the fob is pretty picky. I thought I would use the windows down function more but I literally never do.

Just tried it with remote start and couldn’t get it to work…but it might be just my truck because the key fob for windows doesn’t seem to work on mine unless the ignition is on and other people say they can do it with the truck completely off. Makes no sense to me.

I would get it just to turn off that stupid seatbelt ding. I have a friend whom I have to drop off and pick up a lot at different stores. She likes to unfasten the seatbelt while we’re pulling up.
