Best reving and most balanced motors are l6 and v12. This engine is going to be INSANE. A production l6 with 1000hp means it got some crazy high potential to see 1800+ under the right builders hands.

Yes people are so concerned with number of cylinders they fail to pay attention to what really makes a great engine. Inline 6 produce good torque as well, plus with everything under 1 central axis and a smaller block there's more room to add other things and less parts to fail under load.

Inline engines are superior than V8s. They used them all the time back in the days. My grandfather who was military, swore by the slant 6 Dodge engines. The inline 6 turbo in my bmw is finicky as all hell, but i love it. Still love V8s tho.

Say what you want about a slant 6 but they're probably _the_ best 6 cyl. motors ever made. I had one in a '71 Dart back in the 90s that I wanted to squeeze a 426 into but my uncle who was a Mopar mechanic had a supercharger that fit my slant 6. It cost me around $500 in 1993 money to turn that slant 6 into almost a 650h.p. beast. Foxbodys were all the rage back then and I gapped every one of them.

The gentleman's agreement was 275 hp but every export 2j mk4 supra made 330 hp. I'd bet my cat tigers favorite toy that if you Dino a stock jdm mk4 2j supra it's 330 hp. Same with the gt3000 vr4 all jdm 3000s make 275hp. All exports make 325. Supposedly a stock rb in a r34 gtr only makes 275 as well😂

Alls they gotta do is make sure the stock internals are strong enough on the cat 1 and 2 to add about 2-300 more hp aftermarket. That's the hallmark of the historically badass i6's they are tanks so if dodge can figure that out they are good. Also stock transmission handle 6-700 hp that would be ideal as well

It doesn't work like that.. The 2JZ was a highly restricted engine due to Japan's "Gentleman Agreement" that's why it was so great to mod because the engine is actually a beast but highly restricted. This engine might produce more power stock but it might be just "less" detuned/restricted than the 2JZ.

I think if they decide to use these engines, they will be for their jeeps and gladiators. They have good power for those vehicles, and one of the complaints that people have when they buy those vehicles and start modifying them is that they don't have enough power. I think they will come with some V8's for the charger/challenger when and/or if they bring back those muscle cars. I believe they will when the economy is better. No sense in making new cars and improved cars when people can't afford the cars that are out now with these levels of inflation we are experiencing.

They need to bring back older names and put this engine in those cars. I really need them to bring back the Dodge stealth as awd drive sports car.
