He is not wrong...cobras blocks are great and the internal are good for fbo...but you really don't want to much over 500hp. Ported blower LT intake, 12psi, bigger heat exchanger and your pretty muxh make that 450 to 500wrhp.

The cobra is an insane built 4.6l 4v dohc beast. The sound of this thing with the right exhaust is unmatched to this day. I've heard a couple of them and the sickest rumble from an idle I've ever heard. Not to mention the supercharger whine. These things are now going anywhere from 30k - 60k to get 1. There are people still breaking 1/4 mile records with simple upgrades. This was the original hellcat that dodge copied only 10 years later. The reliable power Like stated in the video is easily 800whp and above. I've seen just bolt on cobras running low 9's in the 1/4 mile. These were Fords reminder that Ford is King and really no American company had any answer until years later.

Let's not forget you could buy a supercharged fox body with a 351w back in 93 as well. It was a saleen but offered through Ford. Had some stupid expensive 3 piece sterns on em too. 17in wheels back in 1993.

The belt tensioner pulley has a tendency to grenade a lot, and the heads can overheat when flooring it in the upper gears. A simple solution to that would be to buy a head cooler and replace the tensioner pulley. Those are the only 2 things you need to watch out for. That being said, the Termi is my dream Mustang!

Also the Mach was great but it's not even close to the same. They had the same heads and that is where the similarities end. The Mach was an aluminum block with weak rods and bottom end while the cobra was an iron block with forged internals. It was alot more than just the supercharger. The cobra could do a simple blower swap and make 600-800 wheel reliably while a Mach wound need a built bottom end and trans in addition to boost to do the same thing. Mach 1s are awesome I used to own one but let's get the facts straight.

Facts! I never removed my valve covers and I make 680rwhp. Ford couldn’t produce a strong enough connecting rod soon enough. So they literally went to the summit catalog and bought Manley rods. The bottom end is “built “ from the factory. I run 18lbs of boost on pump gas

I traded in a full bolt on 2001 Lightning on a slightly used 03 Cobra back in 2005. Honestly the truck was faster 0 to 60 mph because I couldn't shift for shit. It did not like to go into 3rd gear at high RPM. But it sounded so good with full borla exhaust. I do miss the super charger wine though. The belt's squeaked something fierce too when it was wet outside. It was a love/hate relationship as a daily driver lol. We didn't have an over abundance of ECU and programmer tunes available back then. There were just very simple tunes available so it was basic Bolt on's mainly unless you swapped it out for a twin screw supercharger.

@@midnight347 Hahaha that's true it needed a driver mod. But it Cobra was mostly stock. My lightning had a significant horsepower/ torque advantage. Honestly though it hooked up much better on the launch. Roll racing the Cobra had longer legs to stretch out.

I’ve had 7 stangs over the years, my 04 competition orange coupe was the best obviously 🙄. You forgot to mention the track capability of this car due to the only IRS on a stang (99 to 04 cobras)The drag racers aren’t too fond of this but circuit racing these cars is another level as opposed to solid axles found on everything since . I ran a 2.73 pulley dual aftermarket exhaust system maf sensor upgrade k&n filter kit and retuned by Paulmiester when he worked for steeda performance. Car ran 12.02 @117mph on street tires all day long!
