I read that people can often be suicidal and depressed, and the depression is the thing which prevents them from taking action in committing suicide, but then if say they start an antidepressant, it gives them the motivation now, and get up and go, to actually take their own life, as before, the depression was holding them back. Hence why it's a concern, prescribing for this group of patients.

Right. Because they come from that deep, psycho-motor exhaustion, and regain some energy and ability to move to begin with. Well enough to get up and do stuff, but not think outside of that depressed state.

​@@nickydaviesnsdpharms3084yeah I went from pharmacodynamics (lsd and specifically 5ht2a and their relation to migraines, depression, schizophrenia, antagonists helping anxiety, hallucinogenic agonist =helping anxiety in controlled environments, all the way to being a major role in schizophrenia and modulation of everything from perception of reality to ability to stay calm in social settings) to particle physics. Chemistry gets very messy, litterally and figuratively. Biology by itself wasn't as captivating as quantum mechanics. This is a cool study though

religion is indeed good for prevention but its not perfect. if someone has a very strong belief in heaven, it can affect their decision making on moral choices. Some tragedies have occured, e.g. parents killing children to protect them

Yes, Depression is not a million laughs, but suicide is too dangerous. It is a good idea to not go leaping out of buildings in the middle of the night, because it is not the fall, but the landing that will alter your social standing. IMHO.
