Praise, Glory and Honor to GOD in the Highest, Yeshua Ha Mashiach, Jesus Christ for saving a sinner like me. I was so excited to watch this documentary to learn more about Israel & the Palestinian Territories. However, I could not endure it because while it spoke much of God's will and purposes, I found that the heart of God was not reflected as people spoke about the Arab and non-Jewish populations. God's heart for Israel is not an act of favoritism. It is, when properly understood, an expression of God's love for the whole world. They are a "city on a hill" to draw the whole world to the worship of the one true God, Jesus Christ. They are the first spark to set the world ablaze with the love of God. The "seed" is blessed for the sake of the world the Father loves.

Is the nation of Israel still God's people, so that the land of Israel is "a holy land" ? Let's travel in a timeline, from the year that God released the nation of natural Israel from Egyptian slavery in 1513 B.C.E. down to the days of when Jesus was executed on a stake in 33 C.E. In the year 1513 B.C.E., after being released from Egyptian slavery by God (Ex chps 7-14), ancient Israel was given the first opportunity to "become my (God's) special property out of all peoples, for the whole earth belongs to me. You will become to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation", but only "if you will strictly obey my voice and keep my covenant".(Ex 19:5, 6) Over the course of some 1,500 years, how did the nation of natural Israel fair in their obedience to God ? The "book" of Judges, that covers some 300 years from the time that the nation of Israel reached the land of Canaan in 1473 B.C.E. up to the time of Samuel, shows that the nation of natural Israel had a pattern of rebelling against God, and in which at Judges 2, it says: "Then Jehovah’s angel went up from Gilʹgal to Boʹchim and said: “I brought you up out of Egypt into the land about which I swore to your forefathers. Furthermore, I said, ‘I will never break my covenant with you. For your part, you must not make a covenant with the inhabitants of this land and you should pull down their altars.’ But you have not obeyed my voice. Why have you done this ? That is why I also said, ‘I will not drive them (or the pagan nations the Israelites were to destroy, see Deut 7:5) away from before you, and they will ensnare you, and their gods will lure you away.’”(Judges 2:1-3; Note: Jehovah is God's name, see Isa 12:2, KJV) Some 750 years later after leaving Egypt, at Isaiah 1, it says: "Israel does not know me, my own people do not behave with understanding. Woe to the sinful nation, the people weighed down with error, a brood of wicked men, corrupt children ! They have abandoned Jehovah; They have treated the Holy One of Israel with disrespect; They have turned their backs on him."(Isa 1:3, 4) Moving ahead over 100 years from when Isaiah wrote his prophetic "book" (from about 778-732 B.C.E.), to the days of Jeremiah (who was Jehovah's prophet from 647-580 B.C.E.), whereby he wrote of the nation of natural Israel: "Roam the streets of Jerusalem. Look around and take note. Search her public squares to see whether you can find a man who acts with justice, one who seeks to be faithful, and I will forgive her. Even if they say: “As surely as Jehovah is alive !” They would still swear to what is false. O Jehovah, do your eyes not look for faithfulness ? You struck them, but it made no impact on them. You exterminated them, but they refused to accept discipline. They made their faces harder than a rock, and they refused to turn around."(Jer 5:1-3) Now, move forward some 650 years to the year 33 C.E., three days before Jesus was executed at the demand of the Jewish religious leaders (John 19:6, 15), and while in the temple, he said: "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the killer of the prophets and stoner of those sent to her-how often I wanted to gather your children together the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings ! But you did NOT want it. Look ! Your house (or the temple so revered by the Jews) is ABANDONED to you. For I say to you, you will by no means see me from now until you say (quoting Ps 118:26), ‘Blessed is the one who comes in Jehovah’s name !’”(Matt 23:37-39) The nation of natural Israel proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they would not listen to Jehovah God, murdering his "only-begotten Son" (Acts 2:36; 7:51, 52), having reached what 2 Chronicles 36:16 said: "But they kept ridiculing the messengers of the true God, and they despised his words and mocked his prophets, until the rage of Jehovah came up against his people, until they were beyond healing." The apostle Paul wrote to the Thessalonian Christians: "For you, brothers, became imitators of the congregations of God in union with Christ Jesus that are in Ju·deʹa, because you suffered at the hands of your own countrymen the same things that they also are suffering at the hands of the Jews, who even killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and persecuted us. Furthermore, they are NOT pleasing God, but are against the interests of all men."(1 Thess 2:14, 15) So, the nation of natural Israel is just another political nation that awaits destruction (Rev 19:11-21), having lost its privilege to be Jehovah's people as a nation, "a kingdom of priests and a holy nation".(Ex 19:5, 6) Jesus tells them that they have been replaced with another nation: "Did you never read in the Scriptures (at Ps 118:22, 23), ‘The stone (or Jesus Christ) that the builders (or Jewish religious leaders) rejected, this has become the chief cornerstone (of God's heavenly Kingdom). This has come from Jehovah, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? This is why I say to you, the Kingdom of God will be TAKEN FROM YOU and be given to a (new spiritual) nation (of both Jew and Gentile called "the Israel of God", Gal 6:16) producing its fruits (or holy conduct)."(Matt 21:42, 43)
