those are two different ladders in the picture from 1850 and the picture now. The 1850 picture has the rungs of the ladder nailed to the front, notched in vertically held with what looks like two nails a piece judging by the staining of the wood from rust, a much less time consuming and labor intensive means of manufacture typical of the time. The more recent picture has the rungs notched into the supports horizontally held in with three nails a piece, a much sturdier and modern design. so in the last 170 years SOMEONE has touched that ladder.

The historical reason behind the keys to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre being held by Muslim families goes back to the 12th century during the Crusader period. At that time, conflicts and disputes arose among the Christian denominations (Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Armenian Apostolic, etc.) over control and access to the church. In an effort to prevent conflicts and maintain order, the Muslim ruler of Jerusalem, Saladin, entrusted the keys to two Muslim families, the Nuseibeh and Joudeh families. This decision was made to ensure that no single Christian denomination would have exclusive control over the church, which could potentially lead to disputes and tensions. By placing the responsibility in the hands of Muslim families, who were seen as impartial custodians, it was intended to maintain peace and prevent favoritism towards any specific Christian group. Since then, this arrangement has been respected and maintained through centuries of history, even during the Ottoman Empire and under the British Mandate. The Nuseibeh and Joudeh families continue to hold the keys and open and close the church each day according to the status quo agreement that has been recognized and respected by the Christian denominations.

Elizabeth Rathbone We do know where his tomb is and where he was crucified , Roman Imperial records state just that , so do excavations . Empress St. Helena ordered a excavation of everything at 326-328. You can actually physically go inside the tomb. Also he was crucified on mount Golgotha which is on the outside of the city , the Bible even says you can see the city from the mountain. This was done for all the people in the city to easily seen the location of the crucifix because the romans wanted to make an example out of their criminals according to standard imperial procedure.

re - 4:00 That's a different ladder to the one shown earlier at 2:00, for example. The ladder shown @ 4:00 has slats cut vertically into the ladder, whereas the ladder shown @ 2:00 has horizontally cut slats. This is MUCH more apparent when you look at the ladder @ 3:05 The 3:05 ladder is the same as the 2:00 ladder, but very obviously different to the ladder at 4:00 It appears that someone already IS moving the ladder/ replacing it every so often.
