We can’t fly them on scale propellers as they’re too big for the motors we use.

Glen - the reason most modelers only use two bladed props on their scale models is because most models only have a single cylinder two stroke engine in it and these engines simply do not produce any where Near enough power to turn a scale 3 or 4 bladed prop fast enough to get the model off the ground. That is why they are turning 2 blade props to suit the power output of the single cylinder engine, Don’t forget the real aircraft had V12 or 18 cylinder radial aero engines in them and the power to weight ratio is a lot different on a model aero engine - the bigger 250cc & 450cc (5 and 7 cylinders) radial engines can turn bigger 3 or 4 bladed props on them but they still might not be full scale props, and these big 3 or 4 blade props cost into the hundreds of pounds and if the model noses over the props are destroyed, imagine doing that 2 or 3 times over a weekend ! most people simply cannot afford such luxuries and resort to cheaper smaller models with cheaper smaller engines and props, Hope this info helps !
