Imbolo Mbue in theory should be one of my favorite authors. I love the writing, but both of their novels had things about women in them that just feel icky to me on some level. I don't quite remember the ending of this anymore because my memory is so bad, but I remember that there was some ritual or something, that I did not enjoy.
