I just finished onyx storm and it was a 5 star for me. So much happened. I have to admit at the beginning I was confused as well but shortly I realised that is what the book wants as well. So don't be too afraid to go in it because a lot of confusion is wanted in the plot!

I love Fredrik Backman! I haven't read Anxious People and Beartown, but I've read everything else by him. My favourite book of his is My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry. I don't see people talking about it, but It's like a fairytale for grown ups.

I personally ate Onyx Storm up! I enjoyed Fourth Wing - it was a 4 star for me. And I liked Iron Flame slightly more. But Onyx Storm was a 5 star for me! Can’t wait to see what you think!

I got my Emily Wildes 3 copy from Kmart a week ago! I was so confused, did a click and collect and picked it up the next day! Dunno who made that mistake to put it out early but I’m 75% through and it’s so good!

The Dead Romantics is my favorite Ashley Poston Book! Such cozy sweet vibes

Ashley Poston has also written a YA series that are Disney retellings. The first one is called Geekrella. Those are quite fun. She also wrote a fantasy series as well. The first one is called heart of iron. She also wrote a fantasy stand alone called Among the Beasts & Briars. Both are so good! She’s also got a new book coming out this June called sounds like love. I recommend you check out her other books they are already out that I mentioned and see if you like them as well.

Hey Rach! I read Sorcery of Thorns and it was one of the favorites of that year! Since then I have read one other book by the same author called An Enchantment of Ravens, the plot is not crazy but the writing and the atmosphere are amazing, I loved it as well! Plus, the cover is so beautiful!

I finished onyx storm and enjoyed it. About 60% of the book felt really slow, even though so much was happening.. if that makes sense haha. I think that's why there is mixed reviews. But the ending made it worth the slow build up!

Your restraint is inspiring! haha I just finished Onyx Storm - I thought the story was SO MUCH FUN, and loved the pace of this one (but still annoyed with the main romance and her style of writing). I think if you aren't too critical, and just go into it for a good time, its great.

If you want to continue reading her back list after sorcery of thorns I would read enchantment of ravens next. It’s a really good fantasy standalone by her. Not as good as sorcery of thorns but still really good.

All my fellow book readers at work have been reading through the Fourth Wing series, but me and a coworker (still reading them with the others) dont like the series that much. Therefore, i didn't like Onyx Storm, but also that wasnt surprising to me. I did go in hopeful because i didnt hate fourth wing (i may hate iron flame). But anyway, i only read it so quickly because my most anticipated release of the year came out on 1/28 (a Kemmerer book i gave 5 stars because the tension is chefs kiss) so i thought it could last me 4 days, but i instead read it in 2 because the chances of DNF'ing would get higher the longer i took. And i still plan on finishing the series with my book work people so i couldnt DNF 😅 Constructivly, theres a lot of things i dont like, but my main complaint right now is that the characters dont have personalities. Theyre all the same person, different names.

I think this is an unpopular opinion, but worth mentioning… I loved Beartown but Anxious People was just OK for me. So I just wanted to say if you aren’t blown away by it, don’t let it put you off reading Beartown!
