The best thing about Arnie's pure action films is that they never took themselves too seriously. Comedies like HOT SHOTS PART DEUX later went on to parody the type of over-the-top testosterone action flicks that Eighties cinema is known for, but Arnie's movies were already like self-aware parodies of themselves.
@NetAndyCz2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Arnold wanted to do comedies, but they let him do only action movies at the time, I am pretty sure with this one he went really over the line.
@paulpolpiboon9535 Жыл бұрын
Arnolds movies were not parodies or comedies, they were dead serious each time, Predator is not a comedy any more than Conan the Barbarian or Commando. The comedy came when he did Twins. For action films having a sense of humor, that would've been kindergarten cop and Last action hero, and those were not comedies, they were action films with a sense of humor

The ultimate 80's action movie. It just embraced the genre shamelessly and didn't pretend to be anything but that. No need for twists or turns, we know the good guy is gonna win and they go all in with that. He's unstoppable. Some incredible one-liners, an actually capable leading lady who's poc.. and she saves him instead of being just a damsel in distress. Plus some of the shots and editing.. Not only that, but when he blows up the buildings, you can see the manakins tied to post that are supposed to be the soldiers. And by the way, claymores don't blow up buildings in that way. There's a reason Arnold was the greatest action movie star of all time. I grew up watching Arnold movies at sleepovers, this and running man were favorites of ours.

I loved this movie as a kid! When I first saw it when I was about 4 or 5, at the scene he was getting ready to storm the compound; getting dressed, loading up on all his weapons, painting his camouflage, I yelled at the TV "He's turning into a robot!"

I was 15 when this came out and had a buddy who worked at a theater that was screening it, so I saw it at least six times for free.

The man who plays "Cooke", who also played "Mac" in "Predator" , is Bill Duke. Most recently seen in episodes of "Black Lightning". "Sully" was played by David Patrick Kelly... "Warriors", just watch it and to answer the question that you will ask, YES, that's pretty much what growing up in New York was like.

Of all the great one liners that Schwarzenegger has had in his career, "Let of some steam Bennett" is definitely one of my favorites. It's SO over the top, just like the entire movie. But it is perfect for that scene.

It's fun to spot all the mistakes in this movie. There's a lot! For example, you see the wire attached to the guys leg at 11:59. And you can't see it here since you cut it, but when they drive away in the crashed yellow Porsche you can see that it's suddenly undamaged again.

I have seen this movie so many times! I love the action. Given the one liners from Matrix I think he was working on a stand up routine on the side. Man that car wreck into the pole is jarring every time. Ironically she would have gone airborne. Also back in the mall that drug dealer could have escaped but had to come out shooting! I’m pretty sure Sully screams “ooh la la!” When he plummeted to his death.
