At then of my 1 week there, one of the WASP 👦🏼kid said to me “my father has donated to programs that you and your friends can be able to go to camps like this. You should be grateful “. I have several comments. If you want, you can pick one topic to read; I won't blame you. WHY KANYE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE 09 MTV CLIP The problem with rolling the clip is that the media really capitalized on that moment. His mistake was made into this BIG, DRAMATIC THING. Imagine doing something you regret when you're drunk (which he was) and it's on TV. And that moment on TV gets replayed EVERYWHERE you go, people are calling you a bad person based on that ONE incident and your career is even threatened. How would you feel if you saw that clip AGAIN when you were trying to explain yourself and move past your mistake? THE 'MISTAKE' KANYE MADE And let me clarify: the mistake wasn't that Beyonce isn't better than T-Swizzle. The mistake was how he said what he said. The way he phrased it hurt Taylor's feelings and embarrassed her. That wasn't his intent and he apologized to her for hurting her. If you watch his interviews, you understand that Kanye was just frustrated. Beyonce's "Single Ladies" was one of the biggest songs of that year. It sparked dance crazes and so many pop culture references. By comparison, T-Swizzle's song "You Belong With Me" didn't have that kind of impact. Yet Beyonce's work was snubbed and ignored by the awards. And this isn't the first nor the last time Beyonce, the biggest entertainer in the industry today, has had her work ignored and "not win any awards" even though her work has a world-wide impact. THE PROBLEM WITH AWARD SHOWS And this is actually why I have a problem with award shows. Both Taylor and Beyonce and all the other artists did their best and put their hearts into their art. How can we judge who's work is best? Everyone has a different preference. Artists will mean different things to different people. So how can you put one person's art against another? Does anyone get what I'm saying?
@alantaylor66914 жыл бұрын

I would say maybe Kanye did not express himself as eloquently and as in great detail as he wanted to but he certainly did tap into a sentiment black America was thinking about at the time, which I believe was "... can't black people just get a break..". Kanye's statement was raw but not completely wrong in that the a great deal of the blame for Katrina's response was on Bush's shoulders. Katrina was just another stand in for the many problems black people face in this country.

People died because of his negligence, and Kanye hurt the President’s feelings, boohoo!

I can't stand Kanye but at least he owned up to his emotions and said this. Can't blame dude though for how he FELT and what plenty of blacks in New Orleans were feeling while they wer left in sweltering heat for days, while 'waiting' for help. 'Can ya'll be quiet for a second?' HA!
