Has anyone told you that you are like the console version of “Quicky Baby” and “Jingles.” I appreciate these informative videos. I’m a WOT PC/Mercenaries and WOW PC veteran, and I’ve grown to love this console version. I can’t wait for nations, ships and Carrier gameplay. On my torp runs, i like to fire 1 at the sight line to get em dancin, then go bow in, full speed and shoot where they correct. If they slam it in reverse to turn faster they won't have the speed necessary to make that move again. Swing 180, shoot at the apex, pop smoke and steam away. Also a coupla zig zags and change your speed 2 clicks every now and again will frustrate even the best gunners. Happy hunting!

If you see a smokescreen from an opposing team DD, send torps into it, might get lucky (I have about a 50% success rate). This also means that when you lay smoke, don't linger in it. Try to use smoke to help hide teammates when feasible. Unlike the PC version, your torpedoes don't cause damage to teammates. So spam-em. Torpedoes also work well as a form of area denial, and to cause enemy ships to run strait lines into/away from your torpedo spread, setting them up for a broadside.Japanese DD's are excellent ninja torpers, but their guns are pathetic. American DD's have excellent guns, and their torps rely on ambush from smoke or islands. British DD's are middle of the road on guns and torps, but are extremely quick and maneuverable. If in a Japanese DD, avoid American DD's, they usually win a gunfight.Later, I suspect WG will release other nations. The German DD's, for example, have forward-ish firing torpedoes along with the side firing sets, and very good guns. They can dash toward an opponent, zig-zagging, pop off a couple torps, then as they turn away, send out a broadside stream.

Has anyone noticed that the first auto lock and zoom aim sometimes gets frozen and will not give an accurate lock on? this makes you unselect that ship and lock on manually.

Your videos are amazing!! Was struggling at 1st but now i average between 4-6 kills per game! Thanks!! One thing I'm not sure if you know because i still see you hit the shore is that if you throw it in reverse when turning and immediately throw it back all the way to full throttle ships turn really fast!

I use this method to avoid torpedoes also. I turn straight into them to avoid them....you can drive right between them. Learned a ton from your videos! Awesome stuff!!!

@@TbullGaming Me too. Can't remember how many times I've been looking backwards, firing at a pursuing DD only to see the dreaded red "you're going to crash soon " warning. Usually I find there's just enough time to turn your vision to see what's there before you hit....oops, full reverse, turn (usually the wrong way) and do I have any smoke left??

Been loving this game. Really used my premium time they gave me. Up to Tier 5 Japanese and American cruisers Tier 5 Japanese Destroyer and just working in American and UK destroyers Tier 3 I think. BB isnt really my gameplay.

torps: Always shoot narrow spread. If prediction line is moving enemy is turning, wait for it to settle. Best shots are broadside or front quarter. Never shoot torps at fleeing enemy, they won't catch up. If enemy sailing towards you at 20knts, can fire torps when 1.5 km beyond max range and still hit. chokepoints: spam target selection between ships to see if any give the same prediction, and go for the twofer. smoke: Drop smoke cut speed to 1/4. this will lay full trail AND keep you concealed. If you're at full speed when spotted, drop smoke and turn away, then cut speed to 1/4. This will put first blob behind you and hide you faster.

I have the New Mexico Battleship. Some Destroyer players are very bold to approach me close. I just annihilate them & eat 2 or 3 torpedoes with no problem.

Yeah, if you're in a battleship and you're willing to actually shoot destroyers, you can make them pay

I believe it is triangle on all the controller presets, but it is for sure on preset #3, which I suggest using for the ability to lock the guns with the left joystick

Sorry to keep bugging you on your vids, do all American destroyers have torpedo racks on each side? Is there a way to tell from looking at them? IE will the appearince in port show a rack on each side?

Well, first off you're not bugging me, so no need to apologize. I haven't unlocked all of the American destroyers and it's been a while since the alpha test when I played them all, but the easiest way is to look at the ship diagram at the bottom of the screen. If all the torp launchers are in a straight line lined up with the guns, they usually shoot towards both sides. If there is a pair that is side by side sticking out father than the guns, then they usually only shoot towards the side they are on

I've been playing for a while now but I am absolute garbage with destroyers. I do good with battleships and ok with cruisers but I can't do destroyers because I have 0 patience. I can't fight other destroyers either because I always lose.

I like them all. Play the Japanese if you're into a more stealthy, long range torpedo game, or probably the US for a more balanced approach. UK I like but it relies on the smoke a lot so it might be a little harder for new players

They all play differently. The US line is more focused on using the guns and the Japanese line is focused on using torpedoes. The UK line is kind of in the middle between the other two. They are all good in their own regard

its a shame torpedoes don't have LOCK and FIRE. So you can set up a ship and release.

On PC the line splits into two lines at tier 6, heavy and light cruisers. Looks like the line we are starting with it the heavy line, the Dallas is in the light cruisers line. I'm sure we will get all the ships as time goes on

DDs take a lot of experience, but since you're taking the time to learn about it you'll get better at them much quicker. Work on keeping an eye on the blue ring on the map, (your detection ring) and try and keep the red ships outside of that in most instances
