two taps to cancel the looper. also, you can press and hold the pedal for tap tempo with your guitar too (just pick the tempo)

The TC is a little different kinda beast. It has a lot more options than the Boss or the Carbon copy as far as different "types" of delays goes. They did a great job on the design and layout. tonally I would say the quality might be a little better than the other two. Wampler and T-Rex also make some KILLER delay units!

It does not have a hold button, but you may be able to get an external footswitch for the flashback x4 that would function as a hold button.

Cool, that was what I tried to go for as well! Got no tubescreamer but the peavey's going to make some enjoyable noise I suppose.
@timberwolfenstein12 жыл бұрын
For the money, the Flashback is a solid product and would make a good addition to anybody's pedal arsenal. It does have its limitations though. The looper is somewhat lame and the foot switch has a slight audible click. With that said, the sound quality is superb. I was lucky and got one used from n' stuff for $100. TC Electronic makes an upgraded version II and their Nova Delay. There's also the "Alter Ego" which is basically a Pink Floyd inspired mod of the Flashback.

On a pedal like this you're not going to be able to continue the same loop for however long you want. You'll need something like the Boss rc-3 loop station. But still, the loop function on this pedal can loop some great sounds for a bit, with feedback control up especially. I think it's great to have a looping and reverse function on a delay pedal. The more you can do with one pedal the better.
@jamess733310 жыл бұрын
Any chance you (or anyone in the know) could elaborate on this a bit? Why wouldn't the loop continue indefinately on the flashback? Or did you mean that you cannot add as many layers? Also, if you could give some recommendations for a looper that would be great - I am currently looking at this, the ditto x2, the digitech hardwire dl-8 and the Boss rc-3. I was initially drawn towards the flashback and hardwire as I don't have a delay pedal, but it seems that you can't use delay and loop simultaneously with either of the models, in which case I would prefer the pedal which works most efficiently as a looper. How does the TC ditto x2 fare against the Boss rc-3? And are there any other similarly priced loopers worth looking into? Any help would be much appreciated as I am getting treated for my birthday next week and I want to make the most of the opportunity :D
@jamess733310 жыл бұрын
James S Also, I am hoping to be able to create loops in irregular time signatures and ideally be able to remove particular layers at will. Is this possible with any of the afforementioned models, and if so, which ones? Tempo tap would also be handy. Basically my prime concern is to choose the pedal which is most versatile at building layers, bonus effects and programmed drums are a nice bonus but secondary in importance. Thanks for any help!

Hi! Thx for the video!. I got a Lanikai CK-TEK Ukulele and I'm starting to play along live with 2 voices. (Some reggae and jazzy songs) What pedal would you recommend me to get first? I was thinking in the TC Hall of fame, and then a good Delay; or do you think the FB (or any other delay) should came first? (Don't have the money to buy both now) Im still in doubt, cuz I can still record in my PC with tons of effects and delays. Will appreciate your answer, thank you!!

Amazing video, great demonstration and explanation. The light on mine won't even go on anymore, I've only had it four days, for a moment it was working, but i couldn't hear it through the amp, I did check to make sure my amp was working and it still does. Now i switch the battery still no lights; there might be something I'm doing wrong; I'm not technologically sound either, honestly. Anyway, as of right now, no lights on the FLASHBACK at all looper or any other setting, please let me know if you have any suggestions or guidance on this device I should know going forward. Thank you.

exactly, that was what I wanted to tell you! :D it makes quite a neat noise. but what I experienced with the Boss DD7 is that is actually became quite a sharp crescendo and I definitely want that! Did you manage to do that on the Flashback as well?

@seanfullertonmusic98856 жыл бұрын
Cezar Santana....Yes, but not by actually tapping the switch. Hold the footswitch down, and strum the rhythm you want, then release the footswitch. That's how it works with this pedal. :)

@megaFINZ8 жыл бұрын
I think the dynamic mode explanation is not very clear. Effect is quieter when you play louder and it's louder when you play quieter or stop playing.
@mass6278 жыл бұрын
Does it has tail when switched off ?
@paulbishop21618 жыл бұрын
+mass627 Yes, if you use it in buffered mode. In true bypass mode it does not, of course. There's a dip switch inside that allows you to switch between buffered and true bypass.

@RonZabrocki10 жыл бұрын
Big problem I found is you cannot change the tempo with a tap without it shutting off your volume! Great sounding pedal but a deal breaker!
@brunoluznunes10 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your comment. It help made my decision. I think a Boss DD7 might be the right choice
@RonZabrocki10 жыл бұрын
Bruno Nunes I went with the Visual Sound Tap Delay. Incredible sound. Easy to use. About $160 and it has the tap tempo feature built in. The Boss units require a separate tap pedal to work that function. I couldn't be happier. Nothing fancy but killer sound.

My flashback pedal gets some nasty feedback if I turn the level and feedback up to much. Also it will not change from dotted 1/8 notes back to 1/4 notes without unplugging the power. Also does not work on 9v batteries. Great sounding delays but I'd look elsewhere due to the things I've mentioned. Sorry TC Electronics but u guys really need to solve these issues.
