Tom Lang from TC-Helicon presents the Mic Mechanic vocal processing pedal. The Mic Mechanic 2 gives you a powerful vocal toolbox in a compact, easy-to-use pedal - now with 9V battery operation that accommodates typical pedalboard power supplies. Whether you're blessed with a great voice or struggle just to get through a song, the TC-Helicon VoiceTone Mic Mechanic 2 adds that little extra bit of magic that every vocal performance needs. Mic Mechanic 2 leaves out the superfluous bells and whistles, giving you studio-grade reverb, delay, natural-sounding pitch correction, and adaptive tone, which dynamically tweaks EQ, compression, de-essing and gating on the fly, making your voice sound its best.

Actually this pedal is very good. The voice correct is transparent. I wont do the yodeling or sound like doubling. Verb and delay is good.

I use one and I find that it should have two footswitches for echo and reverb individually

It's adjustable so it does the job. I use it at 9 oclock and leave there I don't really need it for what I do. My only gripe is not being able to use echo only when I need it and keep it on reverb. What I did to change that is puchased the harmony singer, I use the reverb of the harmony singer on all the time and use the mechanic for when I need echo.

This looks great, one question though. What would I need to do to connect this to my PC in terms of Mic In. Would I need a small mixer with XLR In and Aux Out? So basically, I want to be able to record my vocal effects from this pedial, into my PC to be able to sing over the top of tracks in some music software? My Guess is, TC-Helicon XLR Out into the XLR In of a Mixer. Aux Out of the Mixer into Mic In on the PC?

You just need a USB Audio Interface.
@AZ_sports_are_better
@AZ_sports_are_better 2 жыл бұрын
An audio interface is what you would need my driller! OR there is a Jerry rig option where u buy an AUX to XLR adapter and plug the aux straight into the computer and record from there! There is a gain output in the Mic Mechanic and Mic Mechanic 2! Both work but I recommend the first!

Why did'nt you keep the reverb & correction ON, and leave the switch for Echo only? It will make it easier to use.

@sweetwater
@sweetwater Жыл бұрын
Hi, Submoto! Thanks for your message, hope you’re well and safe. Since the MM2 has no MIDI or onboard preset capability, you have to manually make any effects mix changes on the face of the pedal. Hi there! Cool Video! Questions concerning a vocal pedalboard: I have a TCH Mic Mechanic 2 (with reverb, delay, compression, EQ etc.) and would like to add some harmonic distortion with a guitar overdrive (can't afford the JHS Colour Box though ...). How would the setup for a mic have to be? 1st a reamper 2 nd the distortionpedal 3rd the Mic Mechanic ? Going out of the guit pedal, would I have to reduce the level again for the Mic Mechanic? Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback and we're glad you like the content! I would be happy to help you get the signal flow and setup worked out, but it would be easier to talk about it through email or over the phone. There could be a lot of variables. How would this work with a wireless mic?
@sweetwater
@sweetwater 3 ай бұрын
Hey there! Great question. If you’re running a wireless mic with this setup, you’ll want to run the wireless receiver into the XLR input on the Mic Mechanic, opposed to the XLR input on your mixer. From there, you’ll still run a cable from the XLR output of the Mic Mechanic into your mixer. This will allow your microphone to still be wireless - you’re just going to be wirelessly connected to the pedal instead. I hope this helps! can i connect a newmann type condenser mic to it?
@sweetwater
@sweetwater 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, Maicon e Marcinho! Good question - you cannot plug a condenser mic directly in the Mic Mechanic because it does not provide the 48v of phantom power needed to power condenser mics. That said, you could run an external phantom power supply between the Neumann and the Mic Mechanic. We sell a lot of great options there - here is just one that also happens to be portable with a built in battery: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/P1Pwr--xvive-audio-p1-portable-phantom-power-supply Thanks for the interest! Cody Kraus, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1766, cody_kraus@sweetwater.com EDIT - the Mic Mechanic 2 does have 24v of phantom power on board. This is always on and cannot be toggled. This will be enough voltage to power most condenser mics, but it does not provide a full 48v of phantom power.

Does anyone know if it works with a wireless microphone?
@sweetwater
@sweetwater 3 жыл бұрын
Hi, Tiagito! Thanks for your message, hope you're well and safe. The Mic Mechanic takes an XLR input. There's nothing in the manual saying it can't be from a wireless mic. Unless you have your wireless receiver next to you or have the FOH engineer operate it for you, it will prove cumbersome to use since it's in pedal form. Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them! Robert Williams, Senior Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 2371, robert_williams@sweetwater.com

Will this work good for saxophone?
@sweetwater
@sweetwater 11 ай бұрын
Hi Joseph, thanks for the question! The Mic Mechanic will work well for a saxophone! The reverb and delay will sound excellent, even the pitch correction, though it might latch onto your vibrato a little bit depending on its width. Your mileage may vary with the Tone button, as it is obviously tailored for voice, but it should adapt to the loudness pretty well. If you want to pick this up, or have further questions, give me a shout! Drake Sobehrad, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 3271, drake_sobehrad@sweetwater.com
