Honestly, this is the best rig rundown and in depth explanation of Luke's pedalboard and gear that I've seen. I think it stresses the importance of always remembering your pedalboard and FX are there to add to or accentuate the parts or licks your already playing, and not make your playing about that pedal or fx. I think there's alot of players that get this part backwards. They go and buy all these pedals and then switch through them endlessly searching for some phantom tones. Create the music first, and then spruce it up a bit with some fancy stomp boxes. Don't use fancy stomp boxes to try'n create music.
@c1ph3rpunk10 ай бұрын
True, but there’s always space for tonal exploration and, in fact, it can often generate inspiration for sound. But, the core of what you’re saying seems true, at the end of the day it’s about the music, but don’t be so dogmatic as to leave exploration on the table.

Toto has created its own music genre. Dave and Luke, I'll never forget you guys in 1991, performing in Buenos Aires. We came to see you "mellow" out with songs like "Africa" and "99," but we were blown away by the heavy rock & roll and the incredible energy emanating from you. Steve, wow man... He truly knows what he does. Right in your face, until you say enough. My guitar hero for ever! It was worth every peso I paid and then some. Since that day, I discovered the real Toto behind the curtain of the so-called "music industry."
