I made a custom detent plate that fits the Outlaw and the Pro Stick that has a neutral lockout, and it makes it possible to simply slap the shifter forward for positive upshifts from 1-2 and from 2-3. Neutral isn't easy to hit with the Quicksilver. It's only dangerous to hit neutral when you're racing and you're flat, but when you're racing you know what gear you're in. I doubt when you're at the top of third you'll think you're in second... Imo the video shows what a pain the TCI is to try and grab the lever and hit 3rd while racing and then taking you 10 seconds just to get it into reverse. Quicksilver, one hand, can do it while talking on the phone without even looking at the shifter

i have 1 for my 727 torqueflite mopar trans, had it for about 1.5 years, other then my neutral safety switch needing adjustment it works great. Keeps from over shift and locks you out of everything else. little to get used to having to use 2 hands at times to park and such

I've designed a great upgraded detent plate for the TCI Outlaw and the B&M Pro Stick. They both use the same detent plates. I've been making my True Slap detent plates for 4 years that convert factory GM shifters to function much better than the factory shifters did, and now I've put those same patented features in a couple of aftermarket shifter detent plates. There's now no need to squeeze the trigger at all for positive shifts from 1-2, and from 2-3. Missing 3rd by not squeezing the trigger completely and accidentally hitting neutral is a thing of the past. Plus, you can now have a neutral lockout. You must squeeze the trigger to shift from 3 to N. This is how these shifters should have been designed in the first place. If wanted, since my detents have a neutral lockout, the reverse lockout could be eliminated. Some racers hate having to use the reverse lever and now it's not needed. I have 3 and 4 speed versions. I don't like how on 1 shift you don't need to squeeze the lever but on the 2nd shift you do, too much to keep up with. Running 9's, trying to keep the car straight I don't wanna be thinking about if I need to squeeze the lever or not

This is the cheap version, the better one has two buttons on the handle, the shifter sits on a nice case and the shifter can be recalibrated for 2, 3, and 4 speed auto and also 6 I believe. TCI Diablo is the far better unit,

Agreed. I made a custom detent for the Pro Stick and the TCI Outlaw to convert it to my True Slap design. There's no longer a need to squeeze the trigger from 2-3, and it has a neutral lockout. That's not cardboard (AKA corrugated). It's packaging paper. Packaging paper can be used effectively as dunnage (look it up), but it appears they skimped a bit here. At the end of the day, you pays your money and you takes your chances, so as long as the product is not damaged, who cares if the packaging sucks? Of course, we always *_hope_* the product isn't damaged, but sometimes it is and sure; mostly it will be because of ineffective and/or insufficient packaging, but sometimes, handling may play an even bigger role in product damage. We can't control that and a lot of businesses have sketchy business models in practice, so you never know what you're gonna get, but unless you ordered a box of chocolates......it's probably not going to be a box of chocolates. The best thing you can do if you're getting damaged product is to send it back and tell them their packaging sucks and that you won't be ordering from them again for that exact reason. If they're not retarded or stupid, they'll improve their packaging so that their future customers won't have to deal with half-assed packaging, causing the company to lose (more) sales.

Works like a B&M Pro Stick it seems. If so the shifter will very easily go to neutral if your not careful when shifting into 3rd gear. I love the Pro Stick in a reverse pattern but absolutely hate it in a forward pattern. Hopefully you don’t have the trouble with this shifter as I have with a Pro Stick.

You said the B&M could be slapped from 3rd to Neutral, but you didn't mention anything about how the TCI is shifted from 3-N. Does the TCI have Neutral lock out?

The video isn't accurate. Once you're in neutral, just use the right hand to push the reverse lever forward, then use the same hand to push to reverse. The reverse lever will stay released after you push it forward while in neutral.

I make a patented custom detent plate for these that lets you simply slap the handle forward for the 1-2 shift, and then you do the same again for the 2-3 shift. You won't miss a shift, and you don't squeeze the trigger until you are going from 3-Neutral. It has a neutral lockout feature. With it, you no longer even need the reverse lockout feature. Some of my customers disable the reverse lockout.
