I bought this TV at Best Buy a few months ago primarily for my PS5. This has absolutely everything and more for gaming, most importantly 120hz (HDMI 2.1). This TV has so many settings that I was actually surprised it had that many. This is the first Google TV that I have owned and it absolutely destroys any other platform. The UI runs fast and smooth. 10/10

Just purchased a 55 inch Q7. I previously had a 65 inch 6 series from 2021 which I absolutely loved but, unfortunately was sustained damage to the LED panel and was not repairable. I decided to go down in size to the 55 inch which seems like a hard pill to swallow but the brightness on this Q7 definitely helps fill the room more and gives it an increased presence which helps make up for the smaller size. One issue I have observed is that the Home button does not take you home like my older 6 series used to. It doesn't do anything so I feel like this is an issue with the remote. Other than that, so far I am enjoying this TV. Thanks for all your great reviews Steve!

For the $499 price at Best Buy, I'm impressed. For the average consumer it's a great deal! The OS is faster than my LG that is a few years old. I believe it's an 8800 series nano-cell. The picture is definitely better than my LG. I purchased an LG 8000 series a couple of weeks ago and returned it because the OS was so laggy. I would definitely recommend this TV for the average consumer in this price range.

I purchased a 55” TCL Q7 a few days ago and so far so good. I know calibration settings are not universal and don’t work the same for all sku’s but I used someone’s recommendation settings. Now I’m happy with the picture (settings below). Also I’m not experiencing the picture settings issue with them resetting but it’s only been about 4 days so we’ll see.. I do have a few gripes so far like watching 4K UHD movies on my Sony UHD player not looking great when using Dolby Vision. I use HDR 10 instead and prefer it right now when watching my UHD discs. Also my soundbar doesn’t turn off when powering off the TV and sometimes doesn’t turn on when powering up the TV. Also not a fan of the motion on this TV while watching movies but I’ve noticed that most newer TVs have the same issue with motion handling by stuttering on pan camera movements. I just messed with the motion settings and changed it to Blur Reduction: 1 and Judder Reduction: 3. I might lower the Judder to 2 bc I hate the Soap Opera effect and sometimes the 3 Judder setting might be too smooth for motion handling. Some things that I really like about this TV is it’s remote. Buttons light up when you pick up the remote so no more fumbling with the remote in the dark. Little things like this go a long way. Also another plus is that the HDMI (E)ARC input is a HDMI 2.0 input so you truly get 2 HDMI 2.1 inputs (Inputs 1 & 2) for 120hz gaming. Unlike my Sony OLED that annoyingly takes up the HDMI 2.1 input as also being an (E)ARC input. Another great perk is having actual storage capacity like 24GB compared to some of these TVs only giving you like 5GB (which is ridiculous). And last thing is it’s a Google operating TV which I love. I highly recommend TVs that utilize Google because you get more app control settings like Force Stop for example. Plus its user interface is clean and simple or at least it is in my opinion.. Overall I’m happy with this TV especially for $448 (sale price right now at Best Buy, normally $599). I’d give it 4 out of 5 if I was to rank it. 😊 Calibration settings for “Movie”: 2 points: R Gain -2 G gain 0 B gain -16 R off set -2 G off set -2 B off set -3 20 points: Interval 4 Red -3 Green 1 Blue -4

My nitpick: I wish the legs were more like the Hisense U8K which are flat and allow for more contact with a flat surface. Other than that, this is on my ‘which tv to buy’ list because every tv I look at are much better than my 6 year old VIZIO P55-E1

Had a Hisense U7K 75" for about 9 days before I exchanged it for the 75" TCL Q7 and couldn't be happier. My Hisense had faulty wifi, so just a defect, but the panel also had TERRIBLE blooming off axis and color drop off, despite many reports saying the 75" is an IPS panel-- I'm convinced the one I had was a VA one. Either way, this TCL Q7 with standard FALD and fewer zones had much better contrast and control of blooming than the Hisense, and now maybe... 6 months in? No issues, besides one bug: when continuing One Piece from Crunchyroll from the home screen, most times it's a soft image. Restart the TV and do it again, and it's sharp. I think that's more on the OS than the TV, but minor nitpick. My next TV will for sure be a TCL Google TV!

Good morning Tech Steve, Hope All is well, I just purchased the TCL Q750G this past weekend and love it. However I tend to see screen tearing or choppy / pixelating when it comes to fast moving action scenes. for example in Dr Strange multiverse of madness, the scene where Dr strange is walking with America Chavez and she leaves him to get food. When he spins around looking for her, Dr Strange is outlined in a choppy/ pixelated look. Is this something I need to change in the motion blur settings or is it that I might not have the correct HDMI cables?

I understand why tcl put the Earc on hdmi 4 so that a person with a soundbar can also use a xbox and ps5 at 120hz without needing a switchbox as this is the most common configuration out there.. But man it just hit me that earc port can't do 120hz and for those of us with a receiver that run all of our stuff through it being limited to 60hz is bs. If i hook the receiver up to hdmi 1 i lose all of the CES and earc features meaning my new backlit tv remote and all of the apps on the tv is useless plus since my receiver doesn't pass-through 144hz i now lose that option on my pc. If i hook the receiver up to hdmi 2 and my pc to hdmi 1,now i get 144hz-240hz on pc BUT no sound to my audio system,still no tv apps and cant use my remote. And if i hook my receiver up to the earc port i get cec,tv apps,and earc but now everything on my receiver is limited to 60hz. And if i hook all my 120hz stuff up to the tv ill need a dang switch box and ill get audio delay over earc,plus it makes my shiny new hdmi 2.1 8k receiver basically NULL. JUST MAKE ALL THE DAMN HDMI PORTS THE SAME ALREADY!!! Or make it so that earc can be selected to work on ANY PORT!!
@TechSteve8 ай бұрын
Yeah you have to use the TV as a switch in this case which is very rare. Gaming consoles works best connected directly to the TV
@solidsnake64058 ай бұрын
@@TechSteve Not from my experience they don't! They always have a audio delay with every soundbar i tried.some people just don't/can't notice it.. last sound bars i tired a couple of weeks ago with my x90k were a Tcl alto 8i without earc and that delay was very noticeable, then i picked up a Samsung q930b which did have Earc.and while it was better there was a slight delay still if you paid attention. Not as bad as my non earc Hw-n950 or the alto 8i tho. Also My x90k would often lose sync mainly when my Series x of Ps5 would switch into or out of vrr and id have to go into the tv settings and turn earc off then on again to get the audio working correctly. Crap like that is why i moved over to haven a 8k hdmi 2.1 AV Receiver as to eliminate all of the junk that haven a tv in the chain brings. Unfortunately No other brand offers the price and brightness that the qm8 offers but this earc issue is nearly a deal killer. I have a Shield pro 2019 for all of my apps and such,but its BS to spend $2000 on a tv and be completely locked out of using 75% of its features.
@solidsnake64058 ай бұрын
I understand that i am very much in the minority here,especially by haven a hdmi 2.1 receiver, but this is just unacceptable from a manufacturer to tout the qm8 as a "flagship" device and yet handicap a segment of the consumer base like this. Leaving the earc on the 120hz port sure those with a soundbar and both consoles or a pc would need a switch or a 120hz soundbar like the klipsch Cinema 1200,but thats standard practice. Grrr the tv industry needs to stop this 30/60hz port crap already..its so frustrating and even the upcoming QM851G has this same issue..

@@TechSteve Just meant can man by himself unpack and put TV together and on TV board.. that's all
@TechSteve9 ай бұрын
Sure, if you can lift the weight of it and the awareness of the panel. I would probably unpack on a bed to keep the risk of damage at a minimum

A bit annoyed that TCL uses different names in other regions. I live in China and the newest TCL high end model is called the Q10K pro. I wonder what it will be called in EU/US.

Had a severe weather event and my local tv channels weren't available on the channel guide. They want to force you to watch their channel line up. Had to repeat several times on the remote to go to the local tv channels. Ready to ditch the tv.

how does it fair against the c755 though?

I have the same question, but Steve can't answer. C755 is not sold at the US, I live in Iraq, and we have C755, I think it is a great tv if you ask my opinion.
