The Q7 surprised me honestly. I have a 48 inch C2 in my bedroom and oled is definitely a game changer. But i got a 65 inch Q7 for my living room and the contrast is great. The Q7 is not perfect but it definitely punches above its weight class. I got my 65 inch for $700 two months ago but now it has dropped to $635. For the average consumer that doesnt want to pay oled prices, you cant go wrong with the Q7

I'd say lean toward the TCL Q7..as it does up to 144hz gaming and not only has VRR but AMD V-Sync premium pro...but BOTH great even if you do game ..If u plan on gaming on a high end PC then def. The TCL because the xbox and ps consoles top out at 120hz for gaming where as a powerful gaming pc can take advantage of the 144hz @4k as well ✌️✌️

Used to use Apple TV to make my tv smart, but now with this I don’t need it! It is very bright at 100% brightness so I turn it down to 65-70 at night! Picture is amazing! Got this tv a week ago in a 55-inch configuration. The colors and all that look great, and I barely messed with it out of the box. The only problem I have so far is that it hums pretty loud with brightness up, but I game with headphones so it's not a big deal. I also find the VRR iffy especially when the game drops below 60fps. Pretty sure the brightness between 60hz and 120hz is different so you get a bit of flicker. But honestly, if a game is dropping below 60fps in vrr, you might as well just play in a 60fps performance mode with vrr disabled.

SO after trying Hisense U8k, Which vrr and hdr didnt even work, freesync turned off would cuase blacking out screen until restart AND HORRIBLE WASHED OUT COLORS at edges due to extremely poor viewing angle, and then trying the LG a2 oled 48 inch, I can safely say THIS TV IS FREAKING AWESOME. I returned the tcl q7 , hisense u8, and lg a2 oled and THEN bought a new TCL Q7. I love it. for VRR performance, ONLY USE HDMI PORT ONE, It is the only one that supports amd freesync premium pro, 144 only supports Forum VRR not freesync premium!!! IT FIXED MY GHOSTING!!!!!!! Make sure your framerate stays high, but even at 80 fps, the horrible ghosting is gone on HDMI port 2.

I originally purchased the Samsung Q60 since it was on sale for Black Friday. My Hisense QLED from a few years ago developed some sick screen burn. My hope was to get an upgrade or at least equal value to that TV. After a week with the Samsung and doing more research, including reviews like this one, I returned it for the TCL. I was worried since I figured Samsung is the best, and perhaps they are in some areas. I am so glad I got this TV so far. After some calibration, the picture is amazing! For the value, it’s an excellent choice and I would recommend it for sure. I certainly like the picture more than the Samsung. Features are easy to use and the remote has a backlight which is pretty dope. Don’t sleep on this one!

I like the TCL better because it is much better with blooming and dark scenes, much better contrast, because I have an IPS gigabyte M 32U monitor and dark scenes are absolutely horrible on it. Lots of IPS glow. Makes dark scenes look horrible. I don’t want that on a 55 inch TV or lots of blooming from bright objects on a dark scene. I’d rather lose a little bit of color and adjust it myself then to have horrible looking dark scenes in many of the movies that I watch including stranger things

How is the upscaling on this model ?
@xuimod6 ай бұрын
Upscaling from what resolution? Most TV's nowadays upscale 720p and greater resolutions very well. Its gotten to the point where Rtings doesn't even grade on 720p upscaling anymore because most new TV's do it very well. They grade upscaling using 480p images. How often are you going to be watching 480p content though? Fwiw I know Sony's with the XR processor are one of the best upscalers for 480p content.

I purchased a 55” TCL Q7 a few days ago and so far so good. I know calibration settings are not universal and don’t work the same for all sku’s but I used someone’s recommendation settings. Now I’m happy with the picture (settings below). Also I’m not experiencing the picture settings issue with them resetting but it’s only been about 4 days so we’ll see.. I do have a few gripes so far like watching 4K UHD movies on my Sony UHD player not looking great when using Dolby Vision. I use HDR 10 instead and prefer it right now when watching my UHD discs. Also my soundbar doesn’t turn off when powering off the TV and sometimes doesn’t turn on when powering up the TV. Also not a fan of the motion on this TV while watching movies but I’ve noticed that most newer TVs have the same issue with motion handling by stuttering on pan camera movements. I just messed with the motion settings and changed it to Blur Reduction: 1 and Judder Reduction: 3. I might lower the Judder to 2 bc I hate the Soap Opera effect and sometimes the 3 Judder setting might be too smooth for motion handling. Some things that I really like about this TV is it’s remote. Buttons light up when you pick up the remote so no more fumbling with the remote in the dark. Little things like this go a long way. Also another plus is that the HDMI (E)ARC input is a HDMI 2.0 input so you truly get 2 HDMI 2.1 inputs (Inputs 1 & 2) for 120hz gaming. Unlike my Sony OLED that annoyingly takes up the HDMI 2.1 input as also being an (E)ARC input. Another great perk is having actual storage capacity like 24GB compared to some of these TVs only giving you like 5GB (which is ridiculous). And last thing is it’s a Google operating TV which I love. I highly recommend TVs that utilize Google because you get more app control settings like Force Stop for example. Plus its user interface is clean and simple or at least it is in my opinion.. Overall I’m happy with this TV especially for $448 (sale price right now at Best Buy, normally $599). I’d give it 4 out of 5 if I was to rank it. 😊 Calibration settings for “Movie”: 2 points: R Gain -2 G gain 0 B gain -16 R off set -2 G off set -2 B off set -3 20 points: Interval 4 Red -3 Green 1 Blue -4

Whats the difference between the q7 and qm7 ?
@CheapRedBoy8 ай бұрын
I'm rebuying the Q7 55-inch. I had it and returned it. I bought the Hisense U8K thinking it would be so much better. I'm returning the U8K less than a week having it. Horrible dirty screen effect and vignetting in the corners. There's noticeable light bleeding in the bottom left corner. He comments that when the screen is just a black screen, it looks uniform. That is what I remember of the Q7 also as the U8K full black screen looks cloudy and uneven. Another deal breaker is the viewing angle. It's horrible on the U8K. When you barely go off center, the picture quality drops off quick and looks washed out. The Q7 wasn't like that. The upscaling on the U8K is a lot better though. I'd say if your main use for the TV is gaming, get the Q7. If you're mainly watching TV and streaming Netflix or similar apps, the U8K is better. The U8K local dimming is odd. If doesn't seem to work sometimes when it should. It seems like it doesn't turn on sometimes watching SDR. When watching HDR, you can tell its working cause the blacks are deep, but then its ruined when slightly off center and you can see the backlight on the sides easily. Also the U8K has some dead pixels so its an easy return anyway.
