She was priceless in the movie "Friendly Persuasion" as the Widow Hudspeth. But, in my humble opinion, she was a gem in any role she played. Love you, Marjorie Main!

Her best scene was in a movie you didn’t even mention. She didn’t start in movies in the 40’s, she did movies in the 30’s, one of them Dead End as the mother of Humphrey Bogart. One of the best scenes in vintage movies.

@satori cmaylo You are correct, Satori. There is no proof Marjorie Main performed a sexual act with a woman. There is evidence she remained devoted to the memory of her late husband. She referred to him as “Dr. Krebs.” He passed in 1935. May they both rest in peace.

@@kathrynfauble9053 Marjorie Main also described her husband’s death as "like losing a good friend. Like part of the family." She also said: "We pretty much went our own ways but we was still in the eyes of the law, man and wife." They spent most of their time apart. Incidentally she was 31 when she married Dr Krebs. He was 57. She lived another 24 years after he died. Her relationship with Spring Byington was widely known, according to Main’s biographer.
